"...ai? Kai?" Kai looked up from his cup.

"You have a visitor." The nurse said.

Kai nodded.

Cole knocked on the door, before walking in.

"Hey." He said.

"Hey yourself." Kai smiled. Cole sat on the chair, next to his bed.

"How are you doing?" Cole asked.

"Breathing." That was enough for him. For now. Cole laughed. "How is Skylor?" Kai asked.

"She's doing much better. She got out last week." Kai nodded. "She's staying with Nya." He nodded again.

"I had a sister with that name." Kai simply said, smiling.

"What happened to her?"

"She got adopted when she was three." Cole hummed. He stared right ahead, furrowing his eyebrows.

"What are you thinking?" Kai smiled curiously, tapping Cole on the forehead.

"Nothing interesting." Cole said, taking his hand. He planted a kiss on the outside of his palm. Kai smiled.

"You saved our lives back there." Cole said.

"I guess I owed it to you. After everything." Cole frowned.

"You owed us nothing. We owe you everything." Kai rolled his eyes fondly.

"How long was I out?" Kai asked.

"A month." Kai hummed.

"Where are we?"

"Ninjago city hospital." Kai hummed again.

"...Chen?"

Cole looked away. "He's... gone."

Kai hummed again.

They fell into silence.

"Nya wanted to talk to you." Kai hummed.

"I know you can talk." Cole poked his cheek. Kai smiled. Cole sighed. "She's waiting for you to get better."

"Sweet of her." Kai murmured, taking another sip of his drink.

"Zane, Jay, and Lloyd also want to apologize." Kai hummed, looking at Cole with a smirk.

Cole laughed.

"You have a nice laugh." Kai said. Cole blushed. "Tell them it's okay. I understand."

"They insist." Kai hummed.
