Memories

Fill me with life till you're weak in the knees,

Stay here in my veins as long as you please,

Lie right beside me for thousands of years,

Kill all my worries and drown all my fears.

Keep my heart beating in the dead of the night,

They tell me it's wrong, but it just feels too right,

I need you to anchor me down to the ground,

'Cause I hear the call of death's haunting sound.

Don't blink or you'll miss me, say goodbye to our bond,

I've only enough time for the stars' fading song,

And when dawn comes we'll smear the sun 'cross the skies,

Listen closely, and you'll hear the ghosts of my cries.

The clock will stop ticking but the world will move on,

And soon I'll be none but a memory long gone,

Carry forth and let go, I'll slip through the cracks,

Forget me and find one with all that I lacked.
