I lay down still
At the bottom of the bin
Under mountains of trinkets
Filled up to the brim
For many a year
I sat there alone
With heavy weight atop me
Dreaming of a home
But that rainy autumn day
Proved to be a delight
And what was always darkness
Was replaced by the light
You cleared a path
And plucked me up dearly
You found me, you chose me
You treasured me sincerely
Those days were the brightest
I still wish them to be true
You fixed my broken heart
That was long overdue
Yet little did I know
Those gestures weren't real
You put on a grand act
To win over my appeal
Anyone who's seen
Knows the first will never last
Fittingly, it seems
It'll blend in with the past
But you've never left my mind
My one and only hope
The first to ever manage
To bring a lowly smile afloat
Now I'm buried once again
And I'm paying the fee
Just please let me forget
The day that you found me.
