The next day it was all the same, busy.
Hazel sat at her desk as she wrote out countless emails as her class watched a documentary about WW2.
She had to send each parent of every student she taught result emails from the latest test.
She usually enjoyed writing them but today due couldn't find a way to enjoy them.
Last night she had to sleep in a hotel as she needed to do a lot of work without distraction.
She wasn't as exhausted but more drained.
She had to walk home then to the hotel and then home and then to work.
This all was one thing she missed about her now ex-boyfriend.
If she had a hard day she would have a warm bed waiting for her and sometimes him to cuddle up to.
It just made her realise that she needed to be with someone.
She struggled to be alone.
She had always needed a dominant figure that was caring and kind but those two never mixed well.
She finished the fortieth email before placing her head in her hands as some of her students watched her.
She then started another email.
After this, she could get something small to eat but then it was back to this.
The term was nearing its end and after this, she had to find a way to help with the school dance next week.
She knew she would have to be there as most of the teachers had families and she had nothing anymore.
Just a drunk dad and that wasn't considered an excuse to miss a dance.
At least she could be out of the house for a few hours. After her class ended she sat at her desk with a dry brownie.
The canteen food was always bad in some way or another.
She took apart the 'brownie' as some knocking on her door filled her ears.
"Come in," she said.
The door opened and Garrett walked in.
"How's your day been?
Some of your students that are in my classes said you looked tired" he said.
"I am.
A little less than yesterday though" she said.
"Have you had anything to eat?" he asked.
"Does this count?" she asked pointing at the remains of the 'brownie'.
"No," he said.
"Then no.
I haven't had time.
I have to email all the parent's test results and there are about a hundred and then I need to attend a meeting for the dance next week and then I have to find a way to get to the hotel where I'm now living in" she said.
He pulled a chair up to her desk before sitting across from her.
"One thing at a time.
Give me your hand" he said.
She placed her hand on her desk.
He picked up her hand before running little circles on her hand.
She automatically relaxed at his touch as all of a sudden she no longer thought about all the things she had to get done.
All that was in her head was him.
His hand was rough and completely covered her hand easily.
She looked into his eyes.
"How are you doing that?" she asked.
"I'm just helping you focus.
I know we haven't known each other for that long but I do care about you and seeing you like this breaks me.
You are such a beautiful, smart young women and in only a few days you've been broken" he said.
"It's been a while since I've been alone.
It sounds pathetic but I need someone.
Even if he's using me I can't be alone.
I've been like this since I was born" she said.
He smiled as he noticed the bond within her.
It was there and the second he turns her it will awaken and take over every part of her.
"It's not pathetic," he said.
She looked at him before smiling.
"What would I do without you?" she said.
"You would be fine," he said.
"I wouldn't," she said before hearing the bell ring.
"I really hate that bell," she said.
He smirked "Have a nice rest of your day" he said before walking out if the room after putting the chair he was using back.
