The day had come too quickly.
Hazel had slept through most of the last month as her body prepared for the mass amount of pain she was going to endure.
But she also slept a lot as when she was asleep she didn't feel any of the pain and uncomfortable symptoms.
Garrett had spent most of his time trying to hunt down the last surviving dread doctor for her as only they could help her if something went wrong.
She knew about it slightly but didn't try to learn more.
She trusted Garrett even if the dread doctors were demons that walked on earth.
He would kill the last one if he hurt Hazel and she knew that.It was almost midnight as the moon illuminated the room.
She couldn't sleep as she tried to lift up her stomach even a little to take the pain away.
Her stomach was so heavy and her skin was tight from stretching.
She looked at the moon from the window before gasping as she felt a sharp sensation in her stomach.
As the baby grew the more they would scratch her.
It was sharp but quick.
She whimpered before freezing as she felt a little snap inside her before feeling liquid rush onto her thighs.
She sat up before feeling her lungs dry up as liquid rushed out of her.
Garrett was in the apartment but she didn't know where.
She took a deep breath before looking at the door.
"Darling" she shouted loud enough for him to hear her.
Minutes later he walked into the room.
"Yes Kleine Maus"(Little Mouse) he said before walking further into the room.
"It's time.
Garrett" she said as her heart pounded in her chest.
She was so scared.
In a few seconds, he was right by her as something snapped within him.
She looked at her as she felt her stomach.
She then yelped as she felt the baby scratch her again.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
He looked into her eyes.
"Not far," he said before lifting her into his arms.
She took steady breaths as the contractions started.
He rushed her into the forest before walking down into a bunker that led to the Beacon Hill's underground.
She hissed as her eyes shifted slightly.
He looked at her before kissing her head as he wished he could take away her pain while holding her.
Once she was lying down he would take every bit of pain away.
The dread doctor stood by the temporary bed that was as old as Garrett as he turned around to see her with Douglas.
"On the bed," he said.
Garrett placed her on the bed as the springs creaked.
He then took her arms as his veins turned black as he felt her pain while taking it away.
She looked at her before looking at his now black veins.
"Don't leave me here" she said.
"Why would I leave you?" he asked.
She smiled before taking in a breath as everything moved along slowly.
Suddenly the dread doctor was beside her with a large syringe with a red liquid inside.
"This will speed things up," he said.
She looked at the doctor.
"You will experience pain like never before but you will have the child within an hour at the most," he said as he pressed the needle against her neck drawing a drop of blood.
She felt the needle not wanting something not meant for a human.
She tried to tell the doctor that she wouldn't need it but couldn't open her lips fast enough before crying out as the needle dug deep into her neck.
Tears rolled down her face as he injected the liquid before taking out the needle.
She took a deep breath as her entire neck burned.
She knew she may not survive this but at least a part of her and the man she loved would grow to build a bloodline.
All she cared about was her baby to be ok.
