𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄 minutes ago, everyone in Ms. Harper's class was given their newest assignment—to first sketch out and then a portrait of anyone in the classroom. But there was just one problem: she sat in the back of the classroom with no one around her. Not one. Looking around the classroom, Y/n soon realized that she was the only person without a partner. Not wanting to believe this at first, she waited for a moment, looking as her classmates rushed past her with art supplies in their arms, laughing as they talked with their self-assigned partners.

"Hm..." Y/n groaned and then rested her head on her folded arms which were folded over her desk. She could always pick someone and try to sketch them from here, but wouldn't she get into trouble for drawing someone else's partner? Or worse: Ms. Harper will notice and bring the issue with the unknowing party while Y/n stands there idiotically, wide-eyed and looking like some stalker. This royally sucked.

"Y/n," the voice belonging to her teacher caused the teen to freeze. A bit scared, she looks up to see Ms. Harper staring down at her with saddened eyes. "Where's your partner?"

"Don't have one... everyone here is taken," Y/n explained with an exasperated sigh as she leaned back in her seat. "I was thinking though, is it alright if I get a friend from another class to be my reference?" She asked.

"... Sure. Just make sure that their teacher is alright with it." Ms. Harper allowed, just this once though. She did have a soft spot for Y/n since she was one of her few good students. It pays off to be a teacher's pet!

"Thank you so much!" Y/n loudly whispered before getting up from her seat, grabbing the hallway pass by the door, walking out of her classroom, and immediately thinking about who would be the perfect muse for this art project. Jacob Alden, her best friend. There are many reasons why she has chosen him, some of which being they are long overdue to spend some time together and Sarah Gallucci had broken his heart a few months ago. He needed some cheering up.

All she has to do now is figure out what class he's in.

It took a few minutes before Y/n was able to find the class the classroom that Jacob was holed up in. Mathematics. The most boring subject ever which is good in hindsight since this only betters her chances of him accepting her offer of coming into the art room to be her partner in the project, but she had to get through the teacher, Mr. Davis, who is one of the most intimidating people she's ever met.

Letting out a small sigh in hopes of calming herself, Y/n straightens herself up and walks inside the room with purpose before making a beeline to Mr. Davis' desk, so she can talk to him in private. Sadly, because of the quiet it is inside, her arrival caused a few students to turn around to watch her, Jacob included who was surprised and puzzled to see Y/n here. "Excuse me, Mr. Davis..." the h/c-haired girl awkwardly stood a few feet away.

"What is it?" The teacher asked.

"Well, I am doing a project in my art class and I was wondering if I could take Jacob for the rest of the period to be my reference?" Y/n rambled, standing there like a bumbling idiot as a handful of students watched her as this. Jacob, however, was surprised to hear this. Never in a thousand years would he ever think his new crush would be the one wanting to come to him to draw him. He always thought it would be the other way around.

"Yeah. That's fine." Mr. Davis said, surprising Y/n. "Alden," he looked away to address the blond who perked up when his name was called. "You're excused for the rest of the period. Y/n needs you for something." He briefly explained and Jacob wasted no time packing his stuff and leaving his mathematics class with his crush.

When the pair finally returned to the art classroom, Y/n sat with focused intent, her sketchpad resting on her lap as she delicately worked on capturing Jacob's features. "Just hold still for me." She politely said.

The soft scratching of her pencil against the paper echoed in the quiet room, drowned out only by the occasional shuffling of papers and distant murmurs.

Meanwhile, Jacob, seated directly in front of her, tried to hide the admiration in his gaze as he watched her hands gracefully move across the page. His heart quickened with each stroke of the pencil, his fascination for Y/n evident, yet concealed beneath a veil of subtle admiration. She's so talented and if this becomes a thing, her drawing him, then Jacob will surely have to take a few of the sketches so he can add them to his beginning collection of things he's stolen from her.

"Do you mind if I watch you?" Jacob asked, feigning casual interest while attempting to mask the undercurrent of his feelings. Y/n glanced up, a slight blush coloring her cheeks as she caught his eyes.

"Sure, but try not to distract me too much," she replied with a small smile, her attention returning to the sketch in progress. Jacob nodded, though internally, he reveled in the opportunity to indulge in his infatuation.

As Y/n continued to sketch, her focus intensified. She analyzed every contour of Jacob's face, determined to make her artwork as realistic as possible. Jacob, on the other hand, couldn't help but feel a sense of vulnerability under her gaze, yet he basked in the attention. She looked so beautiful like this, focused.

Unable to resist any longer, Jacob spoke, his voice laced with a hint of uncertainty. "Are you sure you want to draw me?" His attempt to downplay his interest was evident, but Y/n sensed the genuine concern in his question.

She looked up, meeting Jacob's eyes, and nodded with conviction. "Absolutely. I wouldn't have it any other way." She reassured him. "Plus..." she trailed off, laughing to herself. "You have a nice face." Her words immediately sent a subtle thrill through the blond's heart, and he swallowed nervously.

He awkwardly chucked, "Thanks."

Soon, Y/n returned her focus to the sketch, and Jacob, despite his internal turmoil, couldn't help but revel in the proximity and the privilege of being her subject. As the session continued, the room was filled with unspoken tension, a dance of artistic creation, and tacid emotions.

A/n: I apologize if this imagine was a bit anticipated. Don't worry, I'm sure the next few will be better. Also, to make it up to you all, here's another meme I made for the book. I love Jacob so much. I don't get how Sarah didn't like him back, he's such a handsome man! :(
