School days were full of laughs
and times I can still recall.
They featured someone important
but he isn't with me for the long haul.
Similar to the former,
you have your moments.
My smile may be genuine
but there are things I notice.
Life has its ups and downs,
and through it all I will be here.
When my turn comes,
will you save the day and appear?
When the dust settles,
will you still be standing?
After I have waited,
will you be waiting?
Time goes on without stop.
Will we be there in the end at the top?
