The room was still too noisy at the time we met.
Nothing made too much sense but I saw the shine in your eyes.
I didn't see much of a future but after staring at you,
you're the only thing on my mind.

Many people came to me when I first saw you.
They asked me everything but I only looked around.
A crowd like that becomes annoying over time,
so I walked away and shot them all down.

In the corner, I found you.
We smiled and danced, laughed and kissed.
My grip on your waist wasn't secure,
but in my mid, you were at the top of the list.

Several foods were looked at.
I never tried any of them.
They looked good,
but I was waiting for a shiny gem.

There you glowed in the crowd.

I extended my hand for a dance and you accepted it.
Our feet moved so perfectly that night, you almost cried.
Though the sounds were loud,
I kept strong and faithful and pushed them aside.

The night turned into several in no time.
We've danced too many times to count but I wouldn't mind to.
Eventually I said I never wanted to stop,
and only then did I see why the sky is blue.

To this day, we've held each other strong.
We take turns being the superhero.
I wouldn't trade it for the world's riches
because you are my lover, my dark skinned pharaoh.

So, I'm certain that I love you.
Never think a day goes by without you on my mind.
The sun may rise and set on the earth,
but I'll never leave you behind.
