Can't sit still without remembering,
Almost leaves me trembling.
I can see my dream laid out on flat ground,
Slowly flattening from its source mounds.
The bedroom spaces out into a cliff, sunset, cliche view.
It all looks familiar, but still somehow feels so new.
There, beside a lone willow sits someone, the same as before.
I want to try to go over to them, but then remember, so I stand still and hope for more.
They throw a rock over the edge and the sound of the fall never occurred.
I tossed a pebble over as well, only to be reassured.
I waved as I walked and stood a few feet away,
But whoever they are faded in the dim light before I got a chance to say.
The tree started to decay and welted above me,
And then the dust morphed into bright purple strawberries.
They swirled around me and devoured me in a funnel.
I then found myself back in my bed, try to piece together this puzzle.
