It was fucking hot on campus.
I stood outside of the university leaning against my SUV with my legs crossed and my sunglasses covering my eyes. Where the fuck was she? It shouldn't take her this long to get done with classes.
I decided to take this time and scroll through my messages waiting for the classes to dismiss. Not so long the grounds were filled with students making their way towards their vehicles. Some talking with friends but non of them were her.
I schemed my eyes through the crowd trying to find those familiar green eyes but nothing appeared.
"Where on earth were you angel?" I have always given her that nickname since high school and I never thought of changing it till this day.
"Fuck it" my finger was one slip away from calling Isabella asking her if she was with her but before I could hit call I spotted her.
Those green eyes vanished as I watched her laugh at something her friend said. She looked so delicate like a flower. Still the same from high school.
She laughed until she spotted me staring at her with a blank stare. She said her goodbyes and made her way to me.
"Michael?"
"Jessica, its been awhile hasn't it"
She nodded but I knew she was confused as to why I'm here. I mean I attend this university but I do online classes. "I'd love to catch up with you over some coffee, my treat what do you say?"
"Trust me I'd love to catch up but I have really important things to do right now Michael so maybe another time" she gave me a small smile before walking off but I stopped her by grabbing her waist with a firm grip.
"Please Jessica, it's important"
Her head was turned towards me just staring into my eyes. She hesitated but nodded and I helped her into my car before jogging over to my side.
"How's classes?" I decided to make small conversation seeing as it was very awkward in here. We never spoke in high school only "hellos" and "goodbyes" were spoken but never a full conversation.
"All good business studies are a pain in the ass but it's alright I guess" I nodded and watched her from time to time just staring out of the window at the people walking down the streets of New York City.
Busy City.
I parked outside of the cafe and watched as she got out making her hair in a ponytail. She looked beautiful and the sight alone made me smile for a bit but I quickly covered it up by clearing my throat.
"So what have you really brought me here for?" She sat in one of the booths opposite me running her eyes through the menu biting on her bottom lip.
"What would you like for today" our waiter stood infront of us with a notepad and pen ready to take some orders down.
