I didn't mind the less gloomy schloss across the bridge. I've seen many castles alike, and some were worse than it. Those mortals don't understand that it's just a color.

Deal with it.

Walking across the bridge was the worst part. My heels weren't giving me any slack. They were like demon shoes. Who even came up with heels? I tried my best to get across the rocky bridge

That was until my heel dived into a crack and almost sent me tumbling to the ground like an idiot. I sighed, heaving myself up off the ground and onto the stone ledge.

I sat there for a minute, pulling out the pebles that got stuck in my hands.

"Verdammte steine," I cursed out. After finally wiping the rocks from my skin, I leaned back on my hands and looked up upon the sky. I waited a short minute until I felt something knock into my hand. Looking down to the stone ledge, I saw the frame of an orange cat.

"Hmm, I didn't know the school allowed pets," I whispered and reached my hand out, which the cat met my hand halfway.

The creature purred into my hand.

"I have things to do. Would you like to come along?" I asked, standing up and sorting out my dress. The cat, obviously, didn't answer but gave me a loyal look and flicked its tail.

"I'm going to take that as a yes come on," the cat immediately followed, jumping down from the ledge and trotting next to me. Thankfully, the bridge took mercy on me and didn't propell me forward.

Unlike the school for evil, this school had a great feat of land before its doors. It was cozy seeing nature again. A luxury I'm starting to notice that the School for Evil doesn't provide. Honestly, with all those broken windows, it sure seems to be dark.

Sounds of laughter caught my ears, and I turned to see many girls, maybe princesses, laughing.

Maybe they can help me find Dovey?

Instead of heading for the door, I headed for them.

"Excuse me, Lieblinge?" I asked as I came to them. They all looked at me with very mixed reactions. Disgust, fright, admiration, intimidation, and lust. A natural reaction to vampires.

My new friend jumped onto the table and looked around smugly. One of the girls looked at it with anger.

"Get your feline friend off our table. It's going to get hair everywhere," she said. I shrugged.

"Oh well. Maybe enough of it will fix yours," I retorted back. If looks could kill, I'd be dead at the stake.

"Now, as I was saying. I need to find Professor Dovey. Can one of you bring me to her?" I asked, picking my friend up and pulling her to my chest. She yelped at first but then settled into my arms.

"Uh. No. You just made fun of my friend here. Why would we help you?" One girl asked with a raised brow. I glared down at her and then leaned down in front of her face.
