*'~-Darcy-~'*

I all but dragged my mother through the halls of the castle. She had gotten drunk before we even got to dinner.

"Come on, Darcy, I can walk myself," she said, though her words were slurred due to the alcohol. I rolled my eyes. Momma had taken Pegasus and Chrysaor to the dinner and gave me the job of finding mother. Where she was found was on the other side, the Ever's side, trying to start a fight with Perseus's daughter, Gorophone.

"Fine," I let go of my forceful grip on her forearm and watch with an amused look as she stumbles for a bit before giggling.

"See you piece of shit. I can stand all on my- Fuck,"

"Now will you let me help you?" I say looking down at her. Mother lets out a breath before shakily raising a hand.

"Medusa my love. You need to be careful with what you're doing around here," I watch as momma takes mother from my hands and holds her up with a more caring grip in turn of my tight grip.

"Why? The drinks were free!" She raises a hand to her cheer and smiles brightly. Momma sighs out a laugh and grabs mother by the face and gives her a quick peck on the lips.

"You're adorable when your drunk my love," Mother snorts a laugh.

"Nah, you're adorable. And there's three of you," She takes a pause and smiles somehow even more. "Even better,"

"Alright mother let's get you a seat before you pass out," Chrysaor says taking mothers hand and leading her away. I watch as mother stumbles and giggles to my brother as they walk to the table. Momma lays a hand on my shoulder. I look down to her covered eyes.

"Where's that girl of yours? Do you think her parents would mind if she sat with us?" Momma asked so sweetly. Which made it worse. Her words made me stand up straighter and I cleared my throat.

"She . . . she doesn't have any momma. I think she'd be more than happy to sit with us," I said giving momma a sad smile. I could tell that her face contorted into a sympathetic glance. Then she matched my sad smile.

"Alright. Go find her dear,"

"If you aren't back in the next ten minutes I'll come get you," Pegasus said as he came to my other shoulder and gave a charming smile. I gave a small one back and nodded.

"I'll be as quick as Pheidippides,"

Finding the half feline seemed like an impossible challenge. It was Jayla's own job to sniff out people. And right now, she was the one needing to be sniffed out. The library was searched and so was all of Jayla's hiding spots. There was only one left.

The sound of sniffing and sharp breaths rang out through the dorm as I opened the door. It made me want to comfort Jayla and go looking for the person who dared make her cry. I walked quickly to the deck at the back of the room. The door was slightly ajar and from the cracking black stained glass, I saw a hunched over Jayla.

"Jayla?" I whisper out as I open the door more to allow myself in. She flinches and turns to me while trying to wipe her tears away with the back of her hand. Jayla gives a smile, though it doesn't reach her eyes.

"Darcy . . . what is it I can do?"

"Don't do that," she raises a brow to me.

"Don't do what?"
