Charlie pulled to a stop, feeling the soft give of dirt under her tires, and turned off the car. She got out and surveyed their surroundings. The sky was a rich, dark blue, the last trails of the sunset streaking off to the west. The parking lot was newly paved, and before them lay a sprawling monster of a building, a rising acre of glass and concrete. There were lamps in the parking lot that had never been used, and no lights shone out onto the lot. The building itself looked like an abandoned sanctuary, entombed in black trees amid the distant roar of civilization. She looked at John on the other side of the car, who was also looking at the building. Charlie and John stood in silence as Jason, Toy Chica, and Michelle pulled up beside her, followed by Kanani and Lucia. Everyone stepped out of their cars and stared blankly at the monument. The surfaces of the building were all the same smooth, beige concrete, with windows above the doors. Over the building was a large banner with a staff bot and a wet floor bot, with text overlayed on it that read, "PARDON OUR MESS! WE'LL OPEN UP SOON!"

"Does everyone have a flashlight?" Jason asked as looked at each of them. Kanani, Lucia, Toy Chica, Michelle and John all nodded. But Charlie just stood for a moment.

"Hold on a sec," Charlie said. Then she went around to her trunk. Aunt Jen, loving but severe, had taught Charlie self-reliance above almost anything else. Before she let Charlie have her old blue Honda, she had insisted that Charlie know how to change a tire, check the oil, and know the basic parts of the engine. In the trunk, in a black box tucked in next to the jack, spare tire, and small crowbar; she had a blanket, a heavy police-issue flashlight, bottled water, granola bars, matches, and emergency flares. Charlie grabbed the flashlight, turned to the group, and gave a nod. Then, almost by silent agreement, they began to walk the building's perimeter, Charlie, Jason, and Lucia each holding up the light in a steady beam in front of them. The building itself looked finished; According to Jason, the construction crew were just finishing up with decorating. Charlie shone the light on the ground, where grass had grown patchy in the dirt, inches long. The place was massive, and it took a long time to circumnavigate. It wasn't long before the rich blue of the evening was overtaken by a blanket of scattered silver clouds and stars. Eventually, the group all reached a side door, and entered into a side-hall just off of the loading dock. Right as they did, Charlie heard some familiar voices.

"Keep it down," Carlton said.
"I'm trying, honey," Jessica replied. The group all turned the corner, and everyone startled.

In front of the group was another group, consisting of Carlton, Jessica, Baby, Ballora, Puppet, Lamar, Marla, and Jason.

"What are you all doing here?" Charlie asked. The other group startled and turned back to see her, John, Jason, Kanani, Michelle, Chica, and Lucia. Before anyone in the other group could answer, Jason, Marla's younger half-brother, spoke up.

"It was my idea," he admitted. Charlie groaned.

"Last time you did this, Jason, we almost died," she said.
"And this time is any different?" Jason asked. After a brief moment of consideration, Charlie sighed.
"You have a good point," Charlie argued. "Just try not to get kidnapped again." Jason sighed.

"Rodger, Rodger," Jason said. Then, the two Groups began to walk together, down the hallway.

Jason looked over at Jason, Marla's younger brother, confusedly.

"What's your last name?" Jason asked. Mara's Younger Brother, Jason, looked over at him.

"Why are you asking?" he asked. "Especially now of all times?"
"I don't want to confuse you with myself," Jason explained. Jason, Marla's younger brother, sighed.
