15 - Unknown calls

"I give up!" Karina shouts defeatedly as she hit the desk with her palms, startling Winter and Ningning. The two girls turned to each other, comically wondering through their gazes. "It's been 2 days, and he hasn't even tried talking to me."

Karina was finally letting it all out. She was oddly quiet the whole time despite being the noisemaker of their clique. 

"But you said you were close to winning..." Winter argued.

"You shouldn't really be going that far for some nerd. Not very worthy given your reputation." Ningning encouraged.

"I know right!"

To Karina it was as clear as day that Jeno wasn't attracted to her like she wanted. It annoyed her, not because of the goal she had in mind but for a reason she couldn't quite pinpoint.

"Why should I let some nerd, who got cheated on, affect me?" She tried feigning indifference before continuing with an affirmation, "Ok girls, mission Jeno is officially aborted."

Right then, Giselle walks into the robotics club room. "Gi, perfect timing!" Ningning cheered.

Winter looked slightly disappointed but there was nothing she could do if Karina already decided.

"I have something to tell yall." Giselle began timidly.

"Wait, why did you leave suddenly last night?" Winter's curiousity took the better part of her.

"Oh by the way, Karina just aborted mission Jeno." Ningning added excitedly knowing well that the news would please Giselle.

"Can yall let her talk?" Karina shushed the two girls.

"What? Really?" Giselle's eyes widened with surprise looking as she realised what Ningning was referring to.

Karina nodded before solemnly adding. "He just doesn't like me."

"He's probably not over his ex who cheated on him." Ningning pointed out like some sort of a relationship guru.

"Or maybe you are just misunderstanding him." Winter tried to instill some doubt in Karina's mind. It was kind of working as Karina turned to her as if asking for an elaboration.

"See, Jeno is introverted just like me. I get misunderstood alot because of how passive I can seem about things and my lack of ability to be expressive."

"Remember how you thought I was an arrogant bitch when we weren't close?" Winter posed a real life case to aid her persuasion.

Karina was buying it. If there were two voices in her head, one against Jeno and one with Jeno, the latter was utterly defeated and ran out of excuses for him. With Winter's statement, came it's revival.

"You are still a bitch but that's not the point here..." Ningning quickly added. "How about we vote instead of coming up with theories?"

Winter sent a death glare towards Ningning who simply stuck her tongue out mockingly.

Noticing Karina getting shaken, Giselle intervenes immediately. "Let's vote then."

"I am against continuing." Ningning raised her hand above her bun. Giselle followed suit. Only Winter wanted to continue and Karina couldn't defend her. Just like that the mission was aborted.

"Gi, you were telling us something." Karina asked.

"Oh, it's nothing serious." She laughed nervously before sitting beside Karina and intertwining her arm with her.

Karina was about to wrap her arm around Giselle when her phone rang. It was an unknown number that's been constantly calling. Assuming that it might be a scam or some stalker, she decided not to pick up for the umpteenth time.
