16 ~ Hard to read

Disrupting a choir practice, Winter's phone rang in her pocket. "Sorry I forgot to put it on mute." She timidly bowed when Yunjin sent her a death glare.

"Na Jaemin, what do you want?" Winter sighed as she answered the call, walking her way out of the music club room.

"Are you free?" Jaemin asked after a contemplating pause.

"Karina isn't with me." Winter pulled the phone away from her ear, rolling her eyes when she suddenly heard him still talking.

"Wait! Wait... Wait.. I am just bored. Jeno is doing his assignments and I'm bored..."

"Hi bored. I'm Kim Minjeong. Nice to meet you. Now bye!" She hang up immediately.

"Oh wow, just how much meaner can she get." Jaemin shook his head as he stared at his phone screen and pointed his index finger with a pout, squinting, "She better be exactly like this with other men too."

"Is being bored the best excuse you could come up with? We have an assignment due in 2 days and you have barely coded two lines." Jeno turned from his laptop screen and to his sighing friend.

They came to the study hall to work on their assignment but for some reason, Na Jaemin couldn't seem to focus.

He threw his head behind the chair and decided to catch a nap instead, ignoring Jeno.

"Ugh... who..." Jaemin groaned when his phone chimed and a message from Winter makes him sit upright immediately.

Where are you right now? The message read.

After a while of texting back and forth, they decided to meet in the school cafeteria.

"Why am I even meeting him?" Winter asked herself in realization as she goes to ask for permission from Yunjin.

"Oh by the way, was Karina able to find the dance club?" Yunjin asked Winter as she was about to leave. "I just saw her messages and missed calls."

"I don't know. She probably found it. Call her back. Bye." Winter said before leaving.

"Minjeonga!" Jaemin called when he recognised Winter looking around like a lost puppy.

"Oh!" She beamed and waved.

"I feel happy." Jaemin smiled at her dreamily. Winter just knew that he would pull a flirting line like always but she regardlessly decided to ask why.

"Because you came to see me." He raised his cup up for a cheer. Winter rolled her eyes at his dramatic smirk.

"Well, I was bored too." Her reply came with a cough.

Winter was just about to stand to get some food when her phone chimed.

Minjeongie, Rina isn't picking up my phone calls, can you please check on her at the dance club xoxo :)

Winter immediately called Karina forsaking the idea of getting food. After about half a minute, she picked up.

"Karina... Where are you?" Winter asked. Her worry dissipating once she she picked up the phone only for it to spike up when no reply came. Instead, she heard weird noises of struggle.

She immediately turned the phone's speaker on. "Am I hearing things or is she in pain?" Winter asked Jaemin who looked similarly confused.

"She sounds like she's trying to talk. Are you sure she's okay?" Jaemin's eyebrows  rised in concern.
