19 ~ still mad?

Being bubbly and talkative was supposedly Na Jaemin's role in the friendship between the two boys. However, on one bright afternoon, the reverse was happening.

Jeno happily talking about, perhaps the sappiest movie he's ever watched, whereas Na Jaemin was lost in a maze of pitiful thoughts, paying little to no attention towards Jeno's cheerful blabber.

"By the way," Jeno began in a serious tone, no longer smiling idiotically at a fond memory that's been playing non-stop at the back of his brain. "You don't see Karina like that, right?"

With that Jaemin's round ears twitched to bring his entire focus to Jeno's voice.

"You know like, you aren't interested in her anymore, right?" Jeno clarified his question when Jaemin didn't reply immediately. His eyes were hopeful and ears ready with eager.

Jaemin bursted into a sarcastic laugh, clapping like an amused seal. "You kissed her, spent two different nights at her house and now you remember about me?"

"You... you know I wouldn't dare get close to her if you acted like you still liked her." Jeno defended himself with his hand akimbo. "If we are being honest, you seem more into Winter than Karina."

Jaemin paused the argument he was about to raise. His pointed finger rescinded and he started throwing the basketball against the wall repeatedly. Suddenly quiet again.

"I mean, I told you most things that happened between us, you never had an issue. So I assumed.... wait do you really still like her?" Jeno's brain was in a tug of war, he didn't want to choose between Jaemin and Karina, but Jaemin's silence spiked his anxiety and he was slowly losing all his reasoning.

Jaemin paused bouncing the ball. "Is it that obvious?" It was almost a whisper.

Jeno's heart stopped beating as he asked, "what?"

"That I'm into her?" Jaemin turned to Jeno, who was sitting behind him on the bed, when no reply came.

"Ugh! I'm talking about Winter, not Karina, you loser." Jaemin shook his head with a sigh. His best friend seemed to have lost all his common and the little humor sense he had left.

Poor Jeno was deeply considering what he was going to give up. After the previous night he shared with Karina, he knew there was no going back from the taste of passion. He woke up the next day, utterly obsessed with the gorgeous face lying next to him. While admiring Karina's angelic sleeping face, he found himself secretly wishing to wake upon that everyday.

"You bastard! Can't you just be clear when you talk and not confuse people?" Jeno pushed his annoying friend off the bed.

"Is it my fault that you are slow as hell. Anyways answer my question." Jaemin argued from the floor. He was the lighter one between the two, so even a slight push from Jeno had Jaemin falling to the ground.

Jeno pondered for a while trying to recall the question. "I mean, you always flirt with any pretty girl but it's different with Winter."

Jaemin was listening keenly. "You are constantly trying to annoy her just to get her attention. You know its almost like you become a child around her while you normally try to act like a mature man around other girls."

"Does that mean I'm in love with her?"

Jeno chuckled. Jaemin had never been confused about a girl let alone ask Jeno for advice in that matter.

"You would know better, so are you?"

"I don't know man! She's so cold and heartless, and super mean to me you know... I need to avoid her for my mental health but it's almost like she occupied every part of my brain and now I can't think of anything but her." Jaemin rested his chin on the basketball which he placed between his knees. His arms wrapped around his shin.
