The car pulled to a stop infront of a large venue.

I didn't care much as I tried to get out without something ripping on the dress.

Jace held out his hand to pull me from the car and I gave him a nod of appreciation.

Dad and Eli were standing beside each other waiting for me.

"You guys go ahead I'll be in in a minute." I reassured them.

Dad gave a nod, while Eli gave me pleading eyes.

"Eli go ahead, Jace will be lonely without me." I said and as Jace started to object I hit him in the ribs with my elbow.

I turned to Jace once Eli disappeared into the building.

"Is it too late to run?" I asked.

He gave a chuckle grabbing my hand before locking our arms together.

"Promise I get the first dance?" I teased as we reached the door.

"I'll only dance with you." Jace said opening the door for me.

I pulled him from the door to walk beside me. Because I hated when he walked behind me as if he was lesser than.

We came down the stairs quietly as music played in the background.

The room was full of color. There were at least a hundred people here.

Jace seemed a bit uncomfortable as people stared at us. It was uncommon for wolves and vampires to become mates but not unheard of.

We found my father and Eli talking with a few other alphas, I could sense their power as I walked up with a smile on my face.

"This is my daughter Emery." He said and I reached out my hand to all of them. The men kissed my hand to show respect, and the women smiled to me.

Eli stepped forward and excused himself, then taking my arm and pulling me towards the dance floor.

A shiver came over my body when I got a whiff of that ocean breeze smell again. My wolf seemed giddy in my head.

"I'll take your first dance." Eli smiled widely.

"I was gonna.." he began to pout so I gave in.

"Fine." I sighed offering him my hands.

He gladly took them and we danced around for two songs. I kept tripping over his feet or stepping on his poor shoes.

"This is why we have a dance class!" He huffed leading me over to where Jace was standing lonely on the back wall.

"I'll go find Dad. Please teach her how to dance." Eli mumbled.

"He should be happy I even tried." I sighed.
