We all stood in unison to clap for the new alpha. He barely glanced at me in his wolf form, before disappearing behind the doors on the stage.
My wolf became confused. And she began to try for control of my body.
I looked over at Jace giving him another pleasing glance.
"Outside." I managed to say between gritted teeth. I've never felt such force from her. I tried to calm her as Jace wrapped his arm around my waist and in a flash we were outside and taking in the smell of wet dirt, pavement, and rich earthy smells.
"Thankyou." I said taking deep inhales of the cold air.
"What's going on Emery?" Jace asked rubbing my back gently.
"That guy in there is my..mate." I said. Jace's eye widened, and his hand froze on my back.
"Jace! I don't know what to do! You can't freak out too." I said turning to him in a panic.
"I'm not freaking out. I'm surprised. I don't know what to do! Should we tell your dad?" He asked.
"That's be so embarrassing I have to even talked to him yet." I whimpered.
Jace gave a nod taking a sharp inhale.
"I'd wait him out. He'll come to you right?" Jace asked.
I looked up at Jace and he grabbed my hand.
"Don't worry. I'm here." He said pulling me into a hug.
I let him hold me for a few minutes until my wolf was calm.
"Ready to go inside?" He asked cupping my face gently rubbing my cheek bones.
I gave a slight nod and he took my arm guiding us back inside.
My eyes immediately found his standing there in a crowd of people congratulating him on his victory.
Dad and Eli were in the crowd front and center in front of him.
"That one?" Jace grimaced looking to where my stare ended.
I just shook my head at him.
He lead me down the steps.
"He's surrounded." I sighed.
Jace shook his head grabbing my hand and practically pulling me to the dance floor.
"Don't waist a second glance on him. He'll find you when he's ready." He whispered into my ear.
I gave a nod as we danced with the music.
At the end of the song I was parched.
"Jace. Go get us a drink please." I chirped fanning my face with my gloved hand.
"On it." He said disappearing from my sight through the crowd of people.
I turned around to find Dad and Eli but hit the hard chest of the new Alpha of the Nightwalker pack.
