After Mr. Lawrence's class was over I met Jace in the hallway.
He let out a throaty laugh and wrapped his arm around me.
"Don't even." I said shoving his arm off my shoulders.
He laughed again and teased me for waking up late.
"Shut up." I muttered as we walked into our sense heightening class.

I didn't do my best today either. I was still the last person in every category. Jace of course was the first, and I found myself a bit jealous of his vampiric senses.
They used a rabbit today, a freshly dead rabbit that we had to search for out in the woods.
Everyone was expected to find one of the rabbits.
Despite my best efforts to seek out the smell of the rabbit my nose couldn't just find the singular scent. Instead I could smell the wet moss, the salty sea air, the sand, the trees, and the rain.
When I finally found my rabbit hanging in a tree I pulled it down and ran back to class.
And I was the last one to arrive. I couldn't have felt more embarrassed.
A few people laughed, and Jace gave me an apologetic look.
I took my defeat as the teacher wrote down our ranks. He posted them at the end of the week, so maybe I wouldn't be the very last person. Maybe I'd pass at least one of his tests.

I didn't have any spare clothes to change into for sparring lessons, but I couldn't wear my slippers they'd keep me off balance.
I threw them in my locker and walked out to the field.
Jace laughed at me again.
"Shut up before we get in trouble again." I said shoving his shoulder.
"I don't know what it is about this place, but you grow even more wild every day." He laughed.
"I'm not wild. I'm irresponsible." I said rolling my eyes.
"Hey dude! Are you gonna introduce me to this rockin babe." A buff and cute guy said tapping Jace's shoulder.
Jace shook his head.
"Emery this is Titus Hick. I met him last class and now he's following me around." Jace sighed.
I looked the guy over, he was fit, had blonde hair and blue eyes, and his ass was bigger than mine!
"I think I figured out why they named you Titus." I laughed.
Jace started to laugh as Titus looked at me confused.
"I'm sorry. It's just your butt." I explained trying to calm myself.
"Like what you see?" He asked quirking his eyebrows.
"Ehhh I've seen better." I smiled.
"I'm gonna need names of those people so that I can show you how much better mine is over dinner sometime." He said.
I was a bit surprised and before I could answer him Alpha Orion yelled for us to circle up.
I walked over preparing myself to fall flat on my face over and over again.
"Today you'll pair up and do stretches, then we'll head to the gym and work on muscle building." He said.
"Thank you moongodess." I whispered to myself.
Everyone started pairing off and Titus came over to me.
"Can we be partners?" He asked.
I looked over at Jace who rolled his eyes and began stretching by himself.
"Why not?" I sighed.
We stretched together talking about the weather and how I was adjusting to school and training.
I told him how awful I was at just about everything. And he offered to help me out after school some days. I took his offer happily.
When it was time to go to the gym Jace came to stand beside us forcing himself in between the two of us and creating distance.
Was he jealous? I don't think I've ever seen him jealous.
Maybe he liked Titus. I didn't know much about his type because he never seemed interested in anyone.
"Hey Titus, we'll catch up." I said pulling Jace by his forearm.
"Do you like him?" I asked as soon as Titus was out of earshot.
Jace glared at me and grabbed my hand.
"What in the fuck makes you think I'm gay?" He asked.
"Ive just never seen you interested in someone before. And now all of a sudden you're shoving between the two of us." I explained.
Jace sighed and snuck his hand into my waistband playing with the edge of my underwear.
"I'll make it obvious for you, Emery." He said grabbing my ass and pulling me closer as I gasped.
"Do you understand now?" He asked groping me again.
"Y..yes." I whimpered as he let go, his face stone cold.
He looked over to the right and standing there was Aloha Orion.
Jace didn't ket me go though, only pulling me by my hand away from him.
I looked back at him to see his eyes dark and his jaw tensed along with his fists tightening.

Today was a long day and my muscles were sore.
I took a shower and came out of my room to find Jace asleep on the couch.
I grabbed a blanket and laid it over him before going back to my room.
I was surprised to say the least. He had never done something like that and I really didn't expect it.
