I felt self conscious as he stared at me, looking me up and down.
He greeted my father and they began to talk as Jace seemed on edge.
I tilted my head to the side and quirked a brow when he looked at me.
I watched his nostrils flare and realized the smell must be awful to him. Of course it was.
I gave a nod and reached in my bag to find the mask I used when I went around his family, then sprayed some of my perfume in it, before slipping it on his face.
"Better?" I asked adjusting it. He gave a nod grabbing my hand and holding it down by his side.
"Masks aren't allowed. Take it off." Alpha Orion growled.
I started to say something but my dad gave me a look. I ignored it and as I stepped forward Jace grabbed my shoulder and I watched as he took off the mask.
I let a low rumble out of my throat as the Alpha glared at us.
"I'll take you two to the office to get your schedules and I have someone waiting there to show you around." He said.
My dad pulled us aside, and gave both of us a tight hug.
"Dad? Aren't you coming with us?" I asked as he let us go.
"No sweetie. I've gotta get back home." He whispered his eyes turning glassy.
I wrapped my arms around him again and leaned into his ear.
"Take care of Eli dad. And tell him I'll see him later." I whispered into his ear as he hugged me tighter.
I let go and we took a step back from eachother.
"Take care of her son. Make sure she doesn't kill anyone." Dad said bittersweetly to Jace.
Jace gave a nod.
I turned to Alpha Orion, and nodded my head letting him walk us down the hall.
Dad stood there and watched us disappear into the office.
There was an older woman sitting at the desk, old and dried up, but she smiled at us. And standing next to the desk was a red headed girl, her curls bounced as she turned to look at us.
Jace stiffened when we got in the room, he was still on edge so I grabbed his hand holding it behind my back so it wasn't obvious.
Alpha Orion waved his hands not sparing us another glance, and the old woman greeted us.
"Hi Jace and Emery. It's nice to finally see you two! I'll get you your papers!", she spoke, "where did I leave those cheeky things.".
Before I could offer my help the redhead stood infront of me reaching out her hand.
"I'm Alice, I'll be your guide." She smiled. I stared at her for a moment, something felt off.
I could feel something hiding behind that smile of hers, her eyes laser focused on my face.
