Yavuz had spent the night awake with his father, trying to find a way out of the mess Taner's death had made. From what Davut had learned, Ahmet had already been informed of his son's death. It was only a matter of time before he would come there.

"Will Metin throw us into the flames and save himself?" Dilek asked her husband.

They were in the living room, his parents on the couch, while Yavuz sat in an armchair with the back to the door.

"We should have the wedding before that happens," Davut replied. "Metin won't betray us then."

"How sure can we be about that?" Yavuz asked. "He doesn't care about his family."

He supposed it shouldn't have been a surprise. Even when Metin had been so inconsiderate during their first meeting, Yavuz hadn't thought the man didn't care for his children. He remembered the way Metin had told his daughter about the engagement and the way Nehir dropped the tray. She hadn't expected her father to do something like that.

"He didn't do anything because of us," Davut replied. "He didn't want to embarrass himself any further."

"What would you do if a man hit your daughter?" Dilek asked.

"I'd kill the bastard," Davut replied.

"And if it was Yavuz in that man's place? You would do nothing?"

"Dilek, you know me," Yavuz's father said before turning towards his son. "I would disown you if you ever did something like that to your sister."

Yavuz stared at his father. He would never even think about raising a hand to Güneş. She was his little sister.

"The same with Nehir," his father added. "I will disown you, and no one will be able to save you from my hands if you treat her badly."

"I won't, Father."

Davut's phone started ringing, and his father took it from the table. "I will be back in a minute," he said, getting up from the couch.

"Yavuz," his mother said, stealing back his attention. "I know you don't want to marry Nehir. I also know you aren't happy about this arrangement. If you treat Nehir badly–"

"I won't, Mother."

Yavuz got up from the armchair and went next to his mother, putting his hands on her shoulders. Even seated, he was taller than her.

"You raised me," he said. "And you know me. That's true. I don't want to marry Nehir. But I won't go against my father. And I have nothing against her. "

If he wanted someone to blame for that arrangement, then he would look at her father. Davut had been willing to do business without them being family, but Metin had insisted. Besides, Yavuz had been able to tell from their first meeting that Nehir hadn't even considered her father would do something like that to her.

A phone started ringing, and Dilek got up and took it from the table.

"Nehir, daughter, is everything alright?"

Yavuz got up, throwing a look full of questions to his mother. She didn't answer, seeming to listen to what Nehir was telling her.

"Give the phone to Bora," his mother said, making Yavuz even more curious.

What was going on? Was Bora stupid enough to try something? Yavuz hadn't been joking. He had no problem in breaking Bora's bones. Not when he was threatening or hitting Nehir.

"Bora, listen to me. Nehir isn't your sister. She is my daughter. You can't threaten her. You can't even think about threatening her, do you understand?"

Yavuz raised his eyebrow, still waiting to understand exactly what was happening. Bora seemed to be threatening Nehir. How stupid could Metin's son be? Nehir's father and her older brother were smart, and Neslihan was probably the smartest of them all. So, why exactly was Bora the stupidest member of his family.

"I see," his mother said. "Don't worry, daughter. I'll send Yavuz to have a chat with Bora."

After a few moments, his mother ended the call and turned towards Yavuz.

"What happened, Mother?"

Dilek sighed. "Go and remind Bora of your conversation two days ago."

"What happened?"

"He threatened Nehir again."

Yavuz shaked his head. "Maybe I should give him a more memorable reminder."

Dilek sat back on the couch. "I will think about when we can move the wedding. It was supposed to be next month, but maybe having it earlier would be better. However, I don't like violence. And I don't need a funeral to ruin our schedule. Talk with Bora. If he doesn't seem to have learned his lesson, break one of his fingers."

Yavuz nodded. He could do that.

His father came back from the courtyard, having finished whatever conversation he had had.

"If you see any signs that Bora hit Nehir again, break his hand."

Yavuz nodded.

"Bora still hasn't learned his lesson?" Davut asked. "Go to him. Do as your mother says. I'll have a conversation with Metin to see if he has any intentions of handling this."

"At least make him feel ashamed," Dilek said. "I would try to do the same with Neslihan, but I doubt she doesn't agree with Bora's actions. I am thinking about moving the wedding earlier."

"Ahmet has a hotel here, right?" Davut asked, and Dilek nodded. "We'll do the wedding there. It would look like a sign of trust between us and him. Yavuz, you'll handle the security."

Yavuz nodded. "If this is all, I'll be on my way."

His parents both nodded, and Yavuz went to the door, only bothering to take his keys and wallet, as his phone was already in his pocket.

When the driver saw him, he went towards the car and opened his door.

"Where are we going, sir?" The driver asked after he got in his seat.

"To the Akpinars'," Yavuz replied.

He would either break one of Bora's fingers or his hand. And there was nothing Metin could say. If his son was going to be stupid, then Yavuz would teach him a lesson the hard way.

And maybe he would have a chance to speak with Nehir. He had wanted to do that since the engagement. But Neslihan had said that Nehir was busy fixing her makeup or something. She hadn't allowed Yavuz to talk to her. And, after the engagement, he hadn't had the chance.

Yavuz didn't know exactly what he wanted to say. That he wasn't a monster? That, even if he wouldn't manage to love her, he would respect her? Something along those lines.
