Kitchen

"You guys made it! Make yourself comfortable in the living room." I greeted h/n friends with a hug as i opened the door to let them in.

H/n played hockey and his team had just won so we were making a celebratory dinner.

"Wouldn't wanna miss the food." f/n replied with a smile.

I rolled my eyes as I let them in and made my way into the kitchen where h/n was preparing the food and slipped my arms around his waist from the back, letting my head fall onto his back.

" The guys are here." I told him as he shifted around to pull me into his chest

"I figured, they were being noisy." h/n replied, adding the last part loudly.

"HEY WE CAN HEAR YOU!" 

"That was the point."

Shaking my head, I grabbed my phone to play some music to set the mood. Picking out one of my favourite playlists, I started to play the first song.

The lyrics to "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran started playing. Our favourite song.

I started to hum along to the lyrics as I cut up some potatoes.

"Darling you look perfect tonight." h/n whispered to me as he came beside me, syncing his words to the lyrics. Blushing as butterflies swarmed in my stomach, I turned to him and grabbed his hands.

"May I have this dance?" I asked him silently while giggling.

"You may." h/n replied with a smirk.

He placed one of his hands on my lower back and the other in my hand as he started to twirl me around and dance along to the lyrics.

Listening to the lyrics while dancing with h/n brought back the memories from when we were young.

We were kids in high school when I first saw h/n; and we instantly clicked, as friends- at first. We both didn't realise our feeling for each other until the day of our graduation.

Where he confessed me in a sweet way.

It's graduation day. You sat down on your assigned seat as h/n made his way up to the stage to give a speech. He was the valedictorian and you could't be more proud of him. You gave him an encouraging smile as he looked towards you nervously while clutching his certificate.

"Uhm..Hi- my name is h/n and I am honoured to be the valedictorian for our grade. These few years..." 

As h/n continued his speech, you couldn't help but feel sad that you guys were graduating. You have had a crush on him forever, but was too afraid to confess as you were scared you would cause your friendship to end if he didn't like you back and you didn't want that. He was your best friend after all.

"I would just like to thank y/n for everything she has done for me." your eyes shot to him as he said your name. Turns out he was already looking at you, while blushing?

"Without her I wouldn't have been able to be here today. So, to y/n, thank you so much, I love you." h/n finished and ran down the steps.

The whole world had felt like it had stopped and all you could hear and feel was your heart beating and your friend shaking you aggressively, saying something that sounded like, " HE SAID HE LOVED YOU! AHHHH. Finally though what took him so long-."

You shot back to reality as you heard the audience clapping, some looking at your reaction.

"Hi"h/n said as he sat beside you.

"I love you too." You blurt out.

"You have no idea how long I have wanted to hear you say those three words." h/n smiles widely as he pulled you in and kisses you on the lips. And you kissed him back.

And he looks perfect

I don't deserve this

" Darling you look perfect tonight." he muttered underneath his breath as the song ended.

"WHOOOOOOOOOOO THAT WAS SO HEART-WARMING" f/n shouted suddenly

"Shut uppp." o/f/n scolded f/n and smacked the back of his head.

"Ow chill bro. Anyways, carry on lovebirds"

I rolled my eyes at f/n as I wrapped my arms around h/n and looked into his eyes.

"I love you" I tell him

"I love you more." he replies as he places a kiss on my forehead.

He is perfect.
