4. Settling In, Sneaking Out 🗝️

In Mal and Evie's dorm

Evie and Mal enter their dorm room with very different reactions. The windows give a perfect view to the courtyard and two pink canopy beds are set for the two girls. Evie looks around at the jaw-droppingly gorgeous room with astonishment.

"Wow. This place is so amaz..." Evie begins in admiration.

"Gross." Mal interrupts disgusted by the amount of pink in their room.

"I know, right? Amazingly gross." Evie rephrases her previous statement to agree with Mal, not wanting her friend to know she secretly loved it. "Ew."

"Ugh! I'm going to need some serious sunscreen." Mal gagged at the sunlight coming into their room. "E." Mal says Evie's nickname, signaling for her to help close their curtains.

After they're done, Mal lets out a sigh of relief, "Whew! That is much better."

In Carlos, Jay's, and Gino's room

Carlos swings around two controllers, trying to win his TV video game as Jay unloads a giant pile of things he's stolen from the school onto his bed. Gino picks up a coin from Jay's pile and flops back down onto his own bed, beginning to toss the coin and catch it in boredom.

"Whoo! Whoa! Ah! Whoa!" Carlos yells still locked in on his game, not noticing Mal and Evie enter their room.

"Carlos, can you keep it down? Im trying to think." Gino complains eyeing Carlos's video game, before going back to his coin, flipping it as his thoughts drifted back to that princess.

"I didn't- Woah!" Carlos swings his arm killing another enemy, "I didn't know you could do that!" Carlos shot back at Gino with a snicker, earning him a glare from the dark-haired boy.

"Jay, what are you doing?" Mal asks with a raised eye-brow as she approaches Jay's bed.

"It's called stealing." Jay replies sarcastically as he pulled another device from his waistband and threw it on the bed.

"Okay, what's the point?" Mal asked again, not impressed with his answer.

"Well, Mal, It's like buying whatever I want, except It's free." Jay explained while opening his laptop with a smile.

"Okay. So, you could do that..." Mal rolled her eyes before throwing in a better suggestion, "..... or you could leave all of this here and pick it up when we take over the world."

"You sound just like your mom." Evie chimes in as she sits next to Gino on his bed, flicking open her compact mirror to fix her lipstick.

Mal gasps with a hand on her heart, "Thank you." She beamed looking back at Evie.

Gino stops flicking his coin as soon as Evie sits down, giving up on his thoughts for the time being.

"Give it up, Mal." Gino sits up on his bed and tosses the coin back to Jay, "Jay couldn't wash away his sticky hands even if he tried."

Jay catches the coin with one hand before throwing it back into his pile, "It's true," Jay agrees, closing his laptop and turning back to Mal, "So, you do it your way and I'll do it mine."

"Die, suckers! Jay, Gigi, come check this thing out. Man, It's awesome." Carlos says gesturing for the two to come to the TV. Jay places his laptop on their dorm table, picking up the controllers Carlos had offered him. Gino picks himself up from his bed with a grunt and goes to stand next to Carlos, who wraps his arm around Gino's shoulders in excitement.

"Really, 'Gigi'?" Gino looks down at Carlos questioning this new nickname.

"Shhh! Shhhhh! Just watch!" Carlos shushes the boy as Jay climbs up onto the platform, playing the game in the same competitive manner that Carlos had done while he was playing.
