If there was one thing I hated telling someone, was telling someone that I couldn't fix whatever they wanted fixed. Especially if it was something they held dear to them.
"You can't fix the Going Merry!? Why?!"
Straw-hat stood up, anger shown on his face as well as frustration. The red head seemed surprised and upset as well as Dad informed the two about their ship. "Aren't you the best carpenters in the world?" Straw Hat continued as he tried to deny what was just told to him. That ship must have meant a lot to him then, I watched carefully observing Straw-Hat and his friend. Black hair, red vest, blue shorts and sandals. And a small scar on his face. "If it's money you want, I have lots" Straw Hat patted three suitcases next to him, I assume full of money. I turned to look at Kaku and the others, I haven't looked at their ship so I don't know what kind of condition it is in. "That isn't the problem. Your ship cannot be repaired no matter how much money you have" Kaku stated trying to keep his composure, you could tell he was growing frustrated along with the others. Kaku's face was serious as he looked at the two. "It's already a miracle that you sailed here safely with that ship...I'm really impressed about that" I furrowed my eyebrows a little trying to figure out what part of the ship was seriously damaged beyond repair. The only thing I was thinking was the keel of the ship.
"what do you mean? What's wrong with the Going Merry?" The redhead asked slightly surprised at Kaku's statements. I tilted my head slightly to look at the redhead, she wore a white ruffled skirt and a dark blue polo with a light blue tie. "Do you know what a keel is shameless girl?" I smacked Paulie in the shoulder at his remark. Leave it to him to make a comment to the girl's outfit. "It's on the bottom of the ship..." She answered, I gave her a small smile and nodded. "It's the support that goes from the head to the tail of the ship" My voice was soft as I explained to her and Straw Hat about what the keel is. "Its by far the most important part of the entire ship" The girl looked at me with a curious look. My arms crossed slightly; I winced a little at the pain. I could see Straw Hat taking deep breaths almost as if he was trying to calm himself down. "When you build a ship, you have to start with the keel, then the head, the tail, the spine" Paulie trailed off explained how building a ship works. "The keel is the heart, every piece of the wood in the ship is put together with the keel in the center" Paulie looked at the two as I readjusted my bag to make the pressure on my shoulder less. After a few moments, I grew frustrated and moved the bag over my head and placed it near my feet. "The keel at the center of the ship is the life-line of the ship. If the keel is broken, you cant just take it off and put a new one in" Paulie explained with a serious face, his arms crossed. I lifted my head up and looked at the blue sky, there was hardly any clouds in the sky as I looked. "Replacing the keel is the same as building a new whole ship! Thus, no one can 'repair' your ship" I tilted my head down and shuffled my feet.
It was silent for many minutes, you could practically see the steam coming out of Straw Hat's ears. "Your ship is...Nothing more than a pile of wood waiting to be scrapped" Paulie said with no remorse, but what he said was true. All that was left of that ship to be useful at most, was to be scrapped. "Hey...How could you say that!?" The redhead shouted angrily. "He's only telling the truth, if you guys were to sail to the next island" My voice got quiet as I looked at them. "Your ship would never make it." My voice was solemn as I tried to think about how they were feeling, you could tell that they cared for this ship. "Then..." Everyone looked at Straw Hat, he looked down to the ground before lifting his head up with a determined look on his face. "Just remake the ship from the start!" I shook my head, many of the shipwrights scoffed at his suggestion and shook their heads. "Remake the going merry!" Straw Hat demanded seeing our expressions. "That's not possible either, Koo Koo..." Lucci's Bird Hattori spoke, startling the red head and straw hat. "why not!?" I sighed quietly and took a step forward, I turned slightly and waved a head to the shipwrights to leave. Leaving me and Dad along with Kalifa to talk with Straw Hat and the Red head. "Its....impossible to remake the same exact ship, while its possible to build a replica of the ship. It will not be an exact identical" I explained to them and sat down on a crate near them. The two nodded, seeming confused that I waved away the shipwrights. "Hold on a second, are you a shipwright?" I nodded my head at the red head, Dad coughed at my answer. I glared at him slightly annoyed. "I'm a weapon specialist, but I know how to build and repair ships as well." I explained to them, straw hat looked at me with interest gleaming in his eye. The red head also seemed interested as well. "What do you mean about not being identical?" The redhead asked me curiously with a hint of frustration in her voice. "There is never two identical trees in this world, so even if we make an identical ship. It wouldn't be the same because the size and shape depends on the wood" I continued to explain to them. "In other words, we build a replica of the ship, the one who will most strongly feel the ship is you guys. Feeling this is not the same ship" Straw Hat frowned at me and the redhead stared at me with shock. "So then... are you saying that...." The redhead struggled with her words, she was trying to wrap the news around her head. "The going Merry will never set sail ever again!?" I nodded quietly; I hated telling people this. But I was the only one who cared a little bit about how others felt. "You can either take it apart now, or let it sink naturally" My voice was soft as I kept my head low, I didn't want to look at them.
