Never Give Up?...

I swing my blades down grinning as flames surround me as a barrier.

"Monster!"

"Look at her eyes!"

"Run!"

I leaped forward towards the building, the breeze brushed my hair making my braid move in the wind. The sound of more gun fire and metal clashing against metal was instantly heard as I got closer to the building. Jumping onto the building and started to aide my crew mates by fighting.

I could hear Luffy fighting up above. When I first met Luffy, I didn't think much until now. With how passionate he was about his crew, and how he would do anything for them. Reminded me of someone I met just only a few years ago.

Not just any person, someone who is an emperor of the seas now.

Shanks.

Four years ago

Sitting in my secret hiding spot in Dock One, I grinned to myself as I finally finished installing a multi-cannon. Where you can fire multiple cannonballs in mere seconds after loading, the idea came from a gun. More specifically a revolver. There was a pirate crew that ordered one, due to problems with sea kings. From what I have heard from some pirates, the new world was a dangerous place. I cheered happily and spun around in my chair deep in thought.

"Oh?...You're just a kid" I froze hearing a stranger's voice, my arms up in a cheering gesture as I glanced slowly at a figure standing at the 'door' of my shack. I frowned and planted my feet firmly on the floor before standing up, I crossed my arms and peered up at the man. I got a good look of the man, definitely was too old for me, and was way out of my league. He was a tall male with bright red hair, and three scars on his left eye. I looked at him, and then towards my wall of wanted posters. One in particular.... Red Hair Shanks.

I glanced back and forth between the man and the poster. The man laughed at my reaction as my eyes widen in disbelief. There was no way a notorious pirate captain like himself was in my ragged ass shack. "You know Kid, I was expecting an old man for a weapon specialist. Not a literal kid" I pouted and marched over to him to give him a piece of my mind. "Excuse you!" I stared and paused, my heart skip a beat for a moment. "I uh well. Oh shit" I stared frozen once more, as reality finally settled in. Me and my dumbass last brain cell, rest in peace.

The man in front of me smiled brightly and patted my shoulder. "That alright kid, no worries. Your old man recommended that I find you. Said that you'd be able to find good weapon shops here in Water Seven" I nodded proudly and turned to one of my cabinets to grab a pile of papers with weapon shops. "I'm banned from some of these shops, but I have all the shops written with reviews and what they specialize in" I hold up the papers to Shanks who stared at me curiously. "How the hell does a kid like you get banned from a weapon shop?" We were silent for a few seconds before he started to laugh loudly.

Shanks was a man who showed kindness to me, he told me stories of a boy who ate the Gum-Gum devil fruit. How he never ceased to give up on trying to join his crew. The boy who never knew the word stop or no when it came to helping others. The same kid who is now older, and my captain. Man, I sure would love to see how Shanks reacts to me joining Luffy's crew. It was never my intention to become a pirate, I even told Shanks that, word for word when I declined his offer to join his crew. I think the only reason why he asked me to join, was because of my magic. I looked around seeing only the Franky Family fighting the marines, so I assume that others aren't here yet or are up on the roof. I grumbled to myself dodging bullets and swords as I rushed towards the set of stairs. I started running around the halls of the building seeing checkered black and white ceiling and floors.
