Next day

Violet

Im packing my bags preparing either for my eternal damnation or bliss. It's the conscription day today.

My sister comes in with boots and clothing items, "Look vi, i custom made these boots to ur size so that it's easier for you to cross the parapet. And i made your suits with dragon scales.. " she says.

" aw sis, you didn't have to do al these." I say.

" you'll need these boots to cross the parapet safely and the dragon scales will protect u from direct attacks or hits on your body." She says.

" Alright I'll take these into consideration" I answer with a smile.

"Please be careful sis. I'd Hate to be an only child." She says with a groan. " I'd hate for you to be an only child too." I say with a laugh.

" Oh and don't trust people there. You'll usually find foes and betrayers more than friends. They'll try to get at you at any chance they'll get." She warns me.

"alright I'll try to stay careful from everyone." I assure her.

" I'd like you to find Dain once you reach there. His the most trustworthy person there to us at this moment" she advices me.

" I'll see about that." I answer with uncertainty . We sit there, i just stare at Her and my eyes get teary. I pull her into a hug,

"Dont worry sis, i'll do my best to survive there. And ya ill try to follow through your advice. Not sure how Dain would react beacause his clearly not expecting me to do this." i say.

"Vi, it's gonna be alright im pretty sure Dain is probably busy or he has his reasons." she says.

" alright enough about Dain. It's time for me to go" i say. I pull her for one last hug then i bid farewell to mum and sis. "Here i come Basgiath"

The place is filled with cadets in hopes of becoming a rider one day. There is atleast around 200 people.

We all make our way to the entrance. Everyone enters through the large metallic gate slightly open so that everyone don't get in at once.

There are guards securing the place on both sides of the gate. There is a lady doing entries of all the cadets. My turn comes and i tell her my name,"Im Violet Sorrengail" the gatekeeper stares at me blurts out,

"i thought general Sorrengail had one daughter-" I get taken aback by that comment. what a rude way to welcome me, But i shoot a smile and enter anyway.

We all start making our way on top of the hill because that's from where we'll cross the parapet.

A chill runs down my spine at the thought of crossing the parapet. From what i heard half of the people usually fall and die there.

As im walking i stumble across a girl, around my height who is not too tall and with doe brown eyes and black hair like the night sky reaching right above her waist. her boots which is a size too long fo her is very eye catching.

"woah im sorry" i say. "Its okay girl," she assures me and looks at me, " you're one hell of a beauty to be a rider i must say" she says again with a smile. "Well i guess i get it from my dad" i say.

"So what's your name?" she says. "Im violet Sorrengail. What about you?" I ask. " I didnt know Lilith sorrengail had another daughter. Im Rhiannon Matthias." she says.

"Well i get that alot. Im not as famous as my sister" i say with a dry smile.

Me and Rhiannon continue our conversation and all of a sudden we connect eyes.

Yes, Dain Aetos, my ex- lover is right infront of me with his cinnamon brown hair, striking brown eyes, tall with biceps visible through his suit and absolutely Beautiful as always. And he stares at me in shock as he makes his way towards me.

"Violet?! what are you doing here?!" he asks in great shock.

"Fancy meeting you here Dain. Why am i not allowed to come here judging from your tone." i say with a crooked smile.

"No, sorry vi it came out wrong. I just didnt expect you to be here. Your supposed to be a Scribe. Do u have any idea how dangerous this is?!" he says in higher tone.

"Well change of plans. I would've told you but u clearly seem to maybe have a New girl or just forgot me." i say with a sharp tone.

"Look vi, im really sorry for not contacting you. This is not what its about right now, You should go before its too Late. Did you even train for this?!." he asks abruptly.

"Look Dain i've made my decision and you dont get to decide for me after appearing from nowhere so please let's not have this conversation." i say.

There's a wave of a lot of emotions going through me right now. isn't he supposed to wait for the cadets at the finish line of the parapet?!

All the cadets come to a halt. And i try to peek around to see why they stopped. And i see it.

And My heart comes to a stop. Its the Parapet. The place where the dreams and hopes of half of the cadets will be crushed completely.

Maybe my eternal damnation indeed is here.
