I've been unable to sleep for awhile. I keep tossing and turning on my bed and it's getting annoying. It's midnight right now so I'm not allowed outside either.

Not like I care if I break the curfew as long as I don't get caught. I get out of my bed and wear a casual outfit. I sneak out slowly completely aware of my surroundings.

I walk up to where the Parapet is and sit at the edge of the cliff, dangling my legs. I really needed some fresh air.

I sit down for awhile and all I can think about is my life right now. About how Dain still doesn't want me. I know we broke up and all but we are both still atttacted to each other clearly. But Duty is first to him. Duty is the reason why he left me in the first place.

Its good he does that but he'll be able to kill me just incase duty calls.

But whats weirder is how Xaden gives me butterflies and how he drives me insane. I can't start falling for someone who wants to kill me and would kill me when he gets the opportunity. His a bad idea for sure.

I try to block out my thoughts of Xaden and focus on my surroundings. The night is quiet today and there is nobody nearby right now.

Suddenly I hear a noise. It sounds like the flapping of wings. But nobody is supposed to be riding their dragons right now.

Far from the distance I can make out a large creature coming my way.  Not just one but three. Panic rises in me, at the fear of getting caught.

I quickly get up and hide behind a giant boulder in a crouch position. I stare at the sky again trying to make out what it is. Slowly I can make out its figure.

At the front, It's the most giant dragon I have even seen in my entire life. Its blue familiar scales are who I recognise to be Sgaeyl. xaden's dragon. And his on his dragon heading here.

behind sgaeyl are two other  red daggertails with riders on them. They slowly make their way on top of the hill and the dragons land on it. Xaden gets off first with two other men behind him.

"Great job guys." one of the guys with brown hair whom i dont know says. Xaden and the other guy nods.

"Go to sleep now. And don't get caught Bodhi." Xaden told to one of the guy beside him. He looks very similar to Xaden with dark hair and emerald eyes. They almost look like brothers but Bodhi doesn't have the scar on his eyes like Xaden and that Serious expression.

They nod and leave and Xaden follows behind them. I relief a little and stay crouched for a little more and then get up to leave when I think the coast is clear.

A hand grips my waist so abruptly that I jerk from the sensation. That familiar hand turns me around and makes me face him. Xaden. "Stop stalking me Violet. It's getting boring." He says with a pale expression

"I'm not stalking you!! i just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time." I blurt out. He loosens the grip a little but still doesn't let me go.

"You shouldn't be breaking curfews like that." He tells me. "Same goes to you. What were you doing with your dragon anyways?!" I ask. "That's none of your concerns. Now go to bed." He orders me.

"You know if you hold me in that Iron grip of yours, I won't be able to go to bed." I say with a smirk. He lets me go and faces away trying to his his embarrassment. I let out a chuckle. It's not everyday you get to see Xaden Rhiorson letting his guard down like that.

"What's so funny βία?" He asks calling me that nickname again. "Nothing. Why do you keep calling me βία? I'm not really that violent you know." I ask him.

"You may not be but your tough. You have a violent side in you that is yet to be revealed." He tells me.
"So Xaden has become a fortune teller now huh." I ask with amusement in my tone.

"That's my specialty sweetheart." He says with a scoff. "What do you mean your specialty?" I ask him.
"That's something you'll never know βία so don't ask." He says.

His specialty? Nah his just messing with me. "Why did you save me that day on the Parapet?" I ask.

He doesn't say anything and remains silent. "I saw the shadows picking  me up when I fell you know. Its the same shadows that you yielded that night in the forest." I tell him

He looks at me with an amusing look and just nods. "So your a shadow wielder huh?" I ask him. "Yes." He tells me.

Shadow wielders are one of the most powerful wielders out there. Rare and extraordinary people are able to channel this power from Their dragon.

Clearly his extraordinary since he bonded with the most powerful dragon by far so its not surprising.

"You still didnt answer my question. Why did you save me back then?" I ask again.

"Because your mine to ruin. Not some stupid rock pathway. Im just waiting for the perfect opportunity for revenge." he tells me.

"Then kill me now. Its the perfect opportunity. Why arent you killing me already?!" I ask out aloud. "Ill hunt on you when I feel like it βία." he says.

"Go to sleep now. It's a big day tomorrow. You'll need the sleep to face all those deadly dragons." He tells me.

His Right, i need all the sleep I can get today because it may just be the last time i get to sleep temporarily. "Alright, goodnight." I tell xaden.

He nods and leaves me out in the dark all alone. I sigh and head back to my dorm.

Its gonna be a long day tomorrow. Hopefully any dragon at all would be kind enough to bond a weakling like me.
