Chapter 12

The dragons council had a meeting about this. Yes dragons have councils too. Dont ask. Anyways, they discussed wether they should let me bond with two dragon since this sort of thing hasn't been done ever.

Im waiting nervously for Tairn and Andarna to appear. Im moving in a continuous circular motion on this fine peice of grass for the past ten minutes.

I hear the sound of wings flapping from my right and i turn around.

As expected, I can see Tairn and Andarna flying towards my direction to convey the dragon council's final decision.

They Both land with a huge thud causing the ground to rumble slightly. "So? What did they say??" I ask both of them.

"I- I dont know how you'd react to this Violet, but.." Andarna tells me with a sudden pause.

My heart beat starts pacing at the thought of me losing both of their bondings, decided as per the council.

"But?!" I ask loudly with fear in my tone. "B-but umm.." Andarna again keeps her suspense with her unfinished sentence.

"Stop being dramatic Andarna. The council agreed to let you bond with both of us." Tairn ensures me in my head.

I suddenly notice that their mouth doesnt move when they speak in my head. Which appears odd and creepy not gonna lie.

"Umm, Violet did you just hear what I said?!" Tairn asks me breaking me from my thoughts.

And I suddenly come to the realization, im officially bonded with two dragons! Not one. But two!

"We did it!" I cheer and run to Andarna to hug her.

I hug her neck and she hugs me back with her wings, touching it on my back pulling me closer to her. "Yes, we did Violet." Andarna says in a joyous tone.

I let go off her and face towards Tairn, "No hugs for you jerk face."I tell him, sticking a tongue out at him.

"Didnt ask." he says with an eye roll. An Eye roll!! Its so creepy to witness a dragon do eye roll.

"Its not creepy violet." Tairn says unexpectedly. "Right, i cant even think freely anymore, i forgot." i blurt in a sarcastic tone.

"How do I stop you from reading my thoughts?" I ask Tairn. "You have to learn how to block out. But before that, there are a lot more trainings you have to do first." he replies. "I see." I say.

"Well im off my dragons. See you guys later." I tell them. "Bye violet!" Andarna tells me and Tairn just nods. They fly away and I head towards my dorm.

Im walking down the hallway to where my dorm is. There are not many people here since everyone is at the training arena.

Ill take day off today. After all, bonding two dragons is too much for my mental stability. "Dramatic." Tairn says in my head, loud enough for me to hear.

"I heard that." I tell him. "Im pretty sure i said that for you to hear." Tairn talks back at me. Pfft.

Xaden appears from nowhere infront of me like he just teleported here. And i jerk at the sudden appearance, "woah, shadow boy! quit scaring the shit out of me." I tell him.

"You dont know what just happened." he says with a sort of panic in his eyes. "um I know what happened. I just bonded two dragons and am living the best life." I smile at him, feeling proud of myself.

"No no no no. Violet." He says that and grabs my shoulder and pulls me closer to him. I can feel his heavy breathing on my face. Those emerald eyes looking at me with such amusement.

My heart is doing flips inside. I wanna get lost in his eyes, in him so badly. If only he wasnt my so called soon to be potential murderer, I actually would have.

"You dont get it violet." Xaden says again. "Get what Xaden? Im confused right now." I tell him. "Do you know who Tairn's mate is?? Do you have any idea?" He asks me.

That's right. Some dragons fall in love and they mate each other, which bounds their lives together for eternity. But love story is rare among dragons honestly. I read it in a few books when I was training to be a scribe.

But, I didn't know Tairn is a romantic creature. The thought makes me laugh out aloud and xaden stares at me like I'm going crazy. "What?!" I ask and then it hits me.

No way. No that's not happening, no way. "Tairn is sgaeyl's mate." He says, confirming my fear. The rider of two mated dragons are also bounded with each other. It's like my life is now bonded with Xaden's too. Sgaeyl and Tairn are soulmates thus now also making us soulmates.

If he dies, I die. If I die, he dies. We are connected to each other like this till our death. Okay, I think I forgot how to breathe.

"Are you okay?" Xaden asks while giving me a slight shake. "Other than the fact I'm now bounded with your life till death, yes I'm fine." I tell him.

"I can't let you out of my sight anymore violet. You are a danger to me and the fact that you don't know how to fight yet properly, is putting me in more danger." He tells me.

Well I get an advantage here. Xaden won't be able to kill me since we are bounded with each other's lives now. "Well you should have told sgaeyl to warn Tairn, not to bond me." I tell him with an eye roll.

"Dragons don't take orders from humans, violet. I believe you know that very well." He says like he's pissed at me right now.

"Well what are we supposed to do now then? Handcuff each other's hands till death?" I ask with sarcasm. "No. You're moving closer to my dorm and I'm assigning you with a bodyguard." He tells me.

Ok what!? A bodyguard!? "no way. You're joking." I laugh but he doesn't move a bit and just stares. "Okay, you're serious. No, not happening." I tell him.

"I don't care violet. You're getting a bodyguard whether you like it or not. Your life depends on me and my life depends on you, so keep that in mind." He tells me.

After what he said I can't really deny. Nobody wants to put their life at risk, specially for an irrelevant person like me. "Okay then..." I tell him.

"Good, thank you for finally agreeing with me." He says. Come with me. I'll show you, your new room." He tells and I nod. I loved being Rhiannon's roomie but guess that's not happening anymore.

Can't believe I'm now stuck with Xaden Rhiorson for the rest of my life. Touché.
