Fourth Wing

Chapter 15

I head to the field right after I wokeup. Today we will all practise flight training. We will mount up on our dragons and few tips and tricks.

The sun rose just a few hours ago and the field is already lightened up underneath the sunlight.

A few riders are already riding their dragons up in the sky. A few are on the ground most probably communicating with their dragons.

I see Tairn up afar and I head towards him. His humongous black physique is standing out a lot among all other dragons and a pang of pride hits me.

"Good morning silver one." Tairn says in my head. "good morning big guy." I tell him. "You ready to finally begin your riding lessons?" He asks me.

"I was born ready." I say with great determination.
"That's the spirit!" Tairn says with enthusiasm. "Try to mount up first." He says again.

I nod at him and look for ways to climb. Tairn sits his body down and puts his wings forward for me to climb on easily.

I step on his huge talons and hold his wings. Slowly I  start my ascend and evantually I make the top without much struggle rather than before.

I grab on his firm and thick furs firmly. "I'm ready Tairn." I tell him. "Okay, hold on tight violet." He says and takes position for his flight.

He shoots at the sky with great force causing me to lose my balance slightly but I hold on tighter so I don't fall off.

The wind hits my entire attire with great force, which makes it harder for me to keep staring. I shut my eyes for a bit and after Tairn stables a bit I open my eyelids.

I'm flying up in the sky. It's so beautiful up here. As I was admiring the view Tairn started to turn right and I lost my balance.

Yes. One second I was up on his back, enojoying my life and then the next second I'm free falling in the sky. "Tairn!!" I scream out aloud. "I'm coming Silver one!" Tairn says out aloud my head and flies over to me.

I'm almost about to hit the ground but he catches me before I can with his huge claws and puts me on the ground carefully so that I don't break.

I'm still shaking as I stand, my life flashed before my eyes. But I'm not ready to give up. "Again." I tell him. "You sure violet?" Tairn asks me. "I'm Positive." I tell him firmly and climb on his back again.

The cycle of me free falling and Tairn catching me right before I hit the ground continues. It's been around two hours at this point and I still don't know how to ride my own dragon.

Tairn and I are both pissed at myself. "Again." I say.
"This is the 102th time Violet. Take rest and we will do this again tomorrow." He tells me.

"It's been 102 times already!?" I ask him. "Yes." Tairn says with an eye roll and I got used to him doing it. "You know what you're right. I'm having a migraine anyways. Im off then." I tell him and he nods at me.

He flies away as soon as possible so that I don't change my mind and ask for another round.

I'm dreaming..... I'm dreaming of such good things like rainbows and Unicorns and puppies...and Xaden...it's been awhile since I had good dreams.

It's midnight now most probably. I went to sleep like an hour ago. I know I'm sleeping but I'm still slightly aware of my surroundings like in a lucid dream.

Maybe I'm lucid dreaming? That would be nice indeed. "Awake." A familiar voice says at the back of my head. "Go away...." I tell to that strange person.

I don't wanna wake up from my beauty dreams. "Wake up silver one!" The voice says out aloud again. It's Tairn. "Go away Tairn...we'll talk tomorrow.." I say in my sleep.

"AWAKE or you'll die!" Tairn says firmly this time and my eyelids fly open. "Oh, shit she's awake." A stranger's voice says from beside me. I look to see one of our juniors with red hair who is still unbonded standing beside me along with 4 Other cadets!

"I thought you said she was sleeping!" Another cadets tells her. They back away and I quickly grab my daggers from underneath my pillow.

I jolt up and aim my daggers at them. "Your dragon is mine." The junior says. "Tairn a little help?" I ask.
" yes I'm calling for him!" Tairn tells me.

"For who?!" I ask. Oh right. Xaden of course. I start backing away from my bed and they slowly come at me like a predator waiting to hunt its precious prey.

"Stop doing this!" I tell them. "No if we kill you he'll be satisfied and bond with me." One of them says.

And the girl I saw at first lunges towards me with her sword trying to hit but I back away fast. "Get away from the walls or they will trap u." Tairn says. "Good point." I tell him and back away from the walls.

Another one of them comes towards me to attack me and hits my ribs really hard. It immediately starts bleeding there and I cry in agony.

My hands starts to shake, I'm still in a sleepy state, I'm so horrible right now. "Why isn't he coming!" I scream at Tairn. "He'll be here soon! Hold on violet!" Tairn assures me.

Two of them grab both of my hands and throw away my daggers. I feel so weak right now. The girl with red hair aims her sword at me waiting to strike my chest with great force.

So I close my eyes waiting for the pain to come, but it never comes. I open my eyes to see all of them still.
Just still like a statue. They are not moving an inch.

"Move!" Andarna says in my head. Huh? What's happening....did I just stop time?.. I think I just stopped time.
