Fourth Wing

Chapter 13

Im following Xaden as he takes me to my new dorm.
We are walking through a dimly lit passage and it kinda makes me nervous. Im not a great fan of the dark.

xaden suddenly stops and faces towards me. "Don't tell me you're afraid of the dark." Xaden asks. "N-no
Of course not! What makes you think I'm scared?" I ask feeling a bit insulted.

"Nothing." He says and then grabs my hand and starts walking. His hands are rough and huge comparing to my hands, which is giving me second thoughts and the urge to know how they would look gripping me from everywhere.

But how did he know I was afraid of the dark?? "Why would you think I'm afraid of the dark?" I ask him again. "No reason. Just a hunch." He tells me.

"Most of the girls are scared of the dark so I thought maybe you might be too." He tells me again. I nod, believing him.

He takes me to the top of the building. The cadetes dont usually come here. There are a few dorms here for the upper ranks and the wing leader stays here. Im not really supposed to be here either.

"So, how'd you get them to let me stay here?" I ask him. "Well I had a talk with your mum and she gave the permission. She is the leader of Basgiath after all." He tells me.

"Ohh." I say. And we reach in front of a dorm. The door is wooden and filled with two locks outside.
Besides my dorm are two other dorms. I don't know who the other dorms belong to. Xaden takes out a key and unlocks the door.

He signs me to get in and I do. It's a bit bigger and spacious than the average dorms and has better interior designs. I walk around a bit, trying to make myself familiar with my new place. I put my bag on the bed and turn to Xaden.

His leaning against the door frame staring at me with his gorgeous eyes and bulky body and I kinda blush at the sight. Why is everything about him so perfect?

he coughs slightly breaking me from my trance and I realize he caught me dozing off and staring. shit.
I quickly look away and try to say something to break the awkwardness, "So, uh who's gonna be my bodyguard?" I ask.

"He'll be here in a minute." He tells me. "Okay, sure." I say. It's been only like two minutes but it feels forever inside this invisible layer of awkwardness.

Awhile later Xaden glanced back and he lightens up with whatever or whoever his seeing. "Im here wing leader. Where is she?" A stranger's voice says from the other side.

"She's right here." Xaden says and points at me. And then a boy walks in, around my age probably. He's very well built with spiky blonde hair and blue eyes like that of an ocean.

He is incredibly gorgeous and tall. He is smiling as he stands before me and there is a dimple appearing on both of his cheeks which makes him look even better.

"Are you done checking him out violet?" Xaden asks with roughness to his voice and Liam slightly blushes. "I wasn't checking him out." I yell at Xaden.

"Hi Violet. My name is Liam Mairi and I'll be looking after you." He introduces himself and holds his hands out for a hand shake. I shake it and say, "Well you probably know me so no introduction needed." I laugh a little.

He smiles at what I say and then xaden speaks up, "okay, Enough chit chat now Liam will be staying downstairs Because I couldn't get the permission for him to stay here.","But if you ever need help just call out for him, is that understood?" Xaden asks me.

"Yes. But where is your dorm?" I ask him. "It's far, at the end of the hallway but close enough than your previous dorm." He tells me.

"Okay thanks." I say. Liam is still standing in front of me, completely towering over me. "Alright then. Liam I believe you have some things to do right now so you can go now." Xaden says.

"Yes, wing leader." He tells him, "goodbye Violet, I'll see ya later." He shoots me a smile and leaves my dorm. "If you need anything you can call me too." Xaden says unexpectedly. "Sure." I tell him and he nods.

"Alright I'm off." He tells me and then walks away. "Make sure you lock the door at all times!" He yells out aloud. "Got it!" I yell back.

I shut the door and from inside the door contains around 5 locks. Wow. Bet xaden installed them here.
I make sure to lock all of them and head to bed.

And for the first time in awhile I feel peace. I feel absolutely amazing.
