Chapter 2: Hello, Tsums! II

Back at Main Street...

Riddle and Cater watch as the mysterious creature falls from the sky.

"Things are falling from the sky all over campus!" Riddle says, shocked, "I'll go check on everyone at Heartslabyul. Cater, you stay here and find out what's going on. Inform me at once if anything's amiss. And if you're in danger, get to safety!"

"You got it!" Cater says.

And with that, Riddle hurries off back to the Heartslabyul Dorm to check on the students.

"Guess I'm on the job now..." Cater says to himself.

But notices something has landed on the ground.

Then begins to approach them,"Uh, is it just me, or is one of those things headin' this way?!"

And whatever it is, it's getting closer and closer.

Cater squints his eyes to get a better look, "I can't quite make it out against the light, but... Hold on, it kinda-looks like a plushy... It looks all round and squishy... with stubby little arms and legs..." When it gets closer, Cater can make out more of its appearance, "It's got a tiny pompadour ponytail, and a diamond mark under its right eye..." But soon realizes, "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! THAT'S ME!"

Indeed, Cater finds himself face to face with a small little creature that looks a lot like him. Before Cater has time to react, the mysterious small look alike smacks into him.

Cater yelps, "Oww... That little guy just smacked into me... Ooh, hey, you know what?"

Then Cater looks down at the creature, "Now that I'm lookin' at it more, I see it's got my signature style! And now it's hopping up and down all excited!"

The little creature hops in response.

"Oh this is ADORBS. Only one thing to do: take a pic and post it to Magicam!" Cater says as he takes out his phone.

But before he can snap a picture, the creature dashes off.

"Hey, wait! Don't move, you'll come out all blurry..." Cater calls out, but soon notices its position now, "Oh! It shifted so that the moon's shining directly on it. It knows how to find its light! And this angle... It's perfectly positioned to follow the rule of thirds!"

The creature is happily satisfied.

"Does this guy actually get what makes a 'cammable shot?" Cater wonders with a smile.

Just then, Floyd walks by, "'Sup, Seabream? What'cha doin?

Cater turns to see Floyd, "Oh, hey Floyd! Something crazy's going on, and I have no idea what..." but soon notices something in Floyd's arms, "Wait, are you carrying a mini-Floyd?!"

And in Floyd's arms is a creature that seems similar to the Cater look alike, but looks more like Floyd, even the eye colors and bang matches.

"Oh, you mean this? Never seen it before. It fell outta the sky just now and I caught it," Floyd says.

"Aww, look at the weird little guy all nestled in your arms! That's precious," Cater says with a smile, "You're holding it pretty tight there. I guess you've got a soft spot for small, cuddly creatures."

"Nah. See, if I loosen my grip even a little..." Floyd says and loosens his grip on the creature.

The Floyd look alike jumps out of Floyd's arms and lashes onto Cater's arm, giving it a hard squeeze with its own body.

Cater cries out, "AAAUGH! It's squeezing me! This thing's really clamping down on my arm!"

"Yeah, that's what it does," Floyd says, "It's pretty funny actually, so I thought I'd bring it over to show Azul and Jade.

"I'm more shocked. It's happy to leap TOWARD people, not away! Guess that's why it's a mini-Floyd..." Cater says, still feeling his arms crushed.

Floyd laughs, "Ahaha. I lucked out big time findin' this fun little guy. I'm gonna play with it 'til it drops."

"Aggressive much?" Cater reasons.

Suddenly, they hear a loud scream, "AAAAGH! WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS THING?!"

That startles Cater and Floyd.

Cater says, "...I'm gonna take a wild guess and say there are more of these little guys out there."

"Can't say for sure, but that'd make sense to me," Floyd says.

"Well, Riddle did tell me to figure out what's going on. Might as well hit up the headmage," Cater says.
