CHAPTER 1: When We First Met

7:00 a.m / Sunday morning
The bright ray of sunshine lit up the brunette's room , making her squeeze her eyes in annoyance as she got up from her bed and closed the curtains . Last night was really tiring for her , Soojin had many meetings , and tons of work.

Someone knocked at her bedroom's door , still sleepy she replied "come in" as the maid came in to her room announcing "young lady , Mr. Jinho wants to talk to you , he's waiting in his office , he also said it's urgent" , sighing , Soojin replied "okay I'll be there in 5 minutes , thank you"

Soojin got up from bed , took a shower , and she put on her clothes which she chose , a black elegant blazer with a white tight top beneath with a short black skirt, black heels and left her wavy hair down. She got out of her room heading to her father's office in the upper floor of their mansion.

She was standing infront of the door , about to knock , then she heard a voice from inside saying "I told you what to do , why didn't you obey exactly what you were told?" , she was confused , wondering what's her father talking about and why is he angry , as she no longer heard anything she knocked on the door and got in as soon as she heard her father responding "come in".

Soojin entered her father's office as she said "good morning dad" , with her father replying "good morning sweetheart , I was waiting for you , we need to talk about something important " , "yes dad, I'm all ears, what is it?" his daughter said. "We have guests coming in the evening , I want you to take care of the dinner arrangements for tonight please." Soojin didn't deny , she answered "Yes dad of course , I'll take care of everything once I get back from the company."

She walked out of her dad's office , to have breakfast and head to work at the company which belonged to her dad too. The Wangs are one of the richest families in Korea , many properties in their hands , uncountable money in their bank accounts.

Soojin is a very independent type of girl , she always solved her problems alone without any help from her rich parents , she didn't depend on her father's power not even once. It's possible to say , she has her own empire as well.

As she reached the company , the first thing she did was search for her mom who worked their as a partner with her dad , both ruling the company. Soojin reached her mom's secretary office asking "good morning , is Mrs Eunji in her office?" , the secretary immediately replied , "Good morning miss , yes she's there."

Soojin knocked the door of her mother's office and immediately getting in after her mother replied. "Good morning mom" said Soojin smiling , with her mom answering "Good morning honey" with the brightest smile on her face for seeing her daughter. The mother and daughter have a really nice relationship, not like any other relationships of rich kids and their moms , they think of each other as friends not just as a mom and daughter.

"Dad told me about the sudden guests for tonight." , Soojin said , "yes they're old friends of the family , they mean a lot to your dad." her mom said. "I'll take care of the dinner arrangements tonight." , "Yes honey your father told me , but if you need any help tell me , I'll be a little late today we have an important meeting , for this reason we gave you this task , but we'll be there before the guests arrive." her mom stated.

Soojin couldn't help herself but ask "Who are they by the way?" , "The hwangs" her mom said. "mhmm , okay , I'll go work now , and goodluck with your meeting , I'll text you before I head out of the company." "Yes sweetie don't forget." her mom said smiling. Soojin gave her mom a hug before leaving to finish her work as her mom hugged her back and kissed her cheek , smiling.

Soojin finished her work and now she's heading home after she texted her parents that she left. When she arrived home , the first thing she did was to take care of the food that's going to be served , and she gave the list to the chef. She then went upsters to her room to get ready for welcoming the guests , she changed her clothes to an elegant squared neck short black dress and silver heels , fixed her make up , straightened her hair , and wore some jewelry.

All the preparations for the fancy dinner were done. Soojin's parents arrived home and now they're waiting for the guests to come. Soojin made her last check up on everything and then she went to the living room where her parents are and waited with them. "They should be here anytime now." said Wang Jinho.

Minutes later they heard the door bell ring. Soojin followed her parents as they went to welcome the guests. The first two persons to appear were Hwang Jihoo and Hwang Miyeon , the father and the mother, as the two families greeted each other , the Hwang's son entered through the door , quickly catching everyone's eyes with his handsomeness and power he holds.

Hyunjin greeted Soojin's parents , he took a step forward infront of the daughter, shaking her hand , saying "I always wondered how you looked like face to face , I didn't expect this much beauty." smiling genuinely as he knelt down to kiss the back of her hand , Soojin was a bit surprised but didn't show it , instead she just smiled at the handsome guy infront of her.

The eye contact disappeared the moment Jinho said "Welcome , come on in." as he guided everyone to the huge room where they sat on the couch to chat before dining.As the two families were talking Soojin felt someone staring at her and she met his gaze the second she lifted her head to the side.

"Soojin , why don't you show Hyunjin around ? instead of both of you sitting doing nothing , this would be a good chance to get to know each other and maybe you could become friends just like your family" Her mother Eunji suggested this, which everyone agreed to.

"It's a good idea Mrs. Wang I would love that." said Hyunjin looking at Soojin "If you don't mind of course." he added smiling. "of course , I don't mind at all." Soojin replied with a genuine smile.

The two got out of the room heading to the massive garden behind the mansion. As they were walking , Hyunjin decided to cut the silence saying "so..what are you up to these days?" , "nothing much actually , working and stuff like that , what about you?" she said , "nothing much" he answered.

The garden was really beautiful , fulled of different flowers surrounding a huge space of a big table surrounded by many comfortable chairs made of wood. After the two sat there , the maid followed them holding two cups of tea and leaving after finishing her task.

Taking a sip from the tea , Hyunjin said "The mansion hasn't changed a lot since the last time I was here." . "You came here?" Soojin asked surprised , "yes , that was a long time ago actually , I was 7 when you were just born." he said the last part smiling brightly.

"You have a strong memory." Soojin said giggling. "I never forget what matters to me." He said with a serious tone then smirked , obviously hinting for something , Soojin didn't understand what he meant behind his words , and she didn't ask , she just smiled.

Minutes later , the maid came informing the two that the dinner is ready and their families are waiting for them. As they arrived at the dining table , all families members were looking at them with glowing faces , just after , Hyunjin's mother stated "You both look so good together."

Soojin got shocked but still not showing, looking at Hyunjin , she got more confused as she saw him just looking at her smiling and then winked at her. Soojin just wished to disappear at that moment when everyone else agreed to what Hyunjin's mother said.

Then Soojin just decided to smile and pray for the dinner to finish without any other embarrassing moments. When she was about to sit down , Hyunjin was standing behind her chair to hold it for her , she looked at him just blinking and showing no emotions , that caused him to giggle a bit , then she just smiled and sat down letting Hyunjin do her chair.

"Thank you" she said after Hyunjin was going to sit on his chair . "You're always welcome." he replied. Making her feel embarrassed from all the moments that happened till now. (I just wanted to have a comfortable dinner people.) was all she thought about. The dinner went well , exchanging looks from time to time , and chatting , until it was over and the Hwangs decided to leave.

Minutes later , both families were standing infront of the mansion's huge gate to say goodbye. Hyunjin got closer to Soojin , both shaking hands , Hyunjin said "it was really nice to meet you Soojin , so sad it was for a short time." , Soojin smiled at him replying "it was nice to meet you too Mr.Hyunjin."

"just call me Hyunjin from now on , I hope we meet again very soon." he said smiling widely as he kissed the back of the brunette's hand. Soojin felt shy , she just tried to hide it and smile a bit "yes I hope so.". He let go of her hand and headed to his parent's car and left after they finished talking to Soojin's parents.
