(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
This is great. I finally find the one person that can help me and I find him dead in a puddle of his own blood. Huffing I thought about what to do next. I heard someone shift behind me and tiptoe closer. I turn around, seeing a red clad fellow.
"Hey." I said. He looked shocked that that was all I said. He had a short sword raised above his head and he looked like he was trying to sneak up on me.
"Hey?" He asked. I rocked back and forth on my heels and clasped my hands behind my back.
"Yep. Whatcha up to?" I asked.
"Well I was trying to sneak up on you, but you heard me. So I'm not sure anymore." He responded. I chuckled.
"Don't feel bad. I could hear a cricket sneeze from a mile away. You're not bad at sneaking up on people." I said. I jumped backward onto a windowsill. "Anyways, Cya." I let myself fall off the building and spread my mechanic wings. They were attached to my brain by electrical pulses. He forced me to acquaint myself with the wings and practice flying inside.
While I was flying to my sorry excuse for a home I ran into another bird. I yelped and pushed myself backwards as if I was swimming. It's also nearly impossible to take off my mechanical wings without bleeding to death. I landed in the shack I called my home and greeted the dog I called Yuki.
"Hey bud. Up!" I commanded. Yuki jumped up and hugged me. I rubbed his head and kissed his face. "Let's go to the store." I said. He barked. I unfolded my wings and let them trail behind me. I also put on a cape and led Yuki to the store. He followed close behind and we made it to the store in due time.
"Warm foods. Chicken, eggs, umm. Oh! Yogurt. I need yogurt." I grabbed these things plus bread, cheese, and canned soup. I got to the register and was going to pay, but...
"Your total is $54.60. Will that be cash or card?" The cashier asked.
"Shit." I muttered. "I'll uh, be right back." I sighed and put the eggs and yogurt back. I was reluctant to put the yogurt back since I hadn't had any in months.
"Do you want me to pay for that?" A kind soul asked. His face looked like he'd been mauled by a bear, but I wasn't afraid.
"Are you sure? I can just wait until next time." I said sadly. He smiled and put his hand on mine. Blushing, I looked back up at him.
"I'm sure." He put the eggs and yogurt back in my bag and led you to the register. He paid and offered to walk Yuki and I home.
"Okay." I agreed. I led Yuki and him back to my 'home' and when we got there, he was aghast.
"This is where you live?" He asked. I nodded and took off my cape. He immediately recognized me and stepped back.
"Huh? Oh. Yeah, I thought that you were the guy that tried to kill me the other night." I said nonchalantly.
"Are you not mad at me for that?" He asked. Clearly confused.
"Nope." I rocked back and forth on my heels and clasped my hands behind my back. "I'm not one to hold grudges. Plus there's no way you'd be able to kill me. I'm too fast and I can hear people's intentions."
The guy looked me up and down. Intrigued yet confused. "Were you born this way?" He asked.
"The hearing people's intentions and the speed, yes but these wings are a mechanical curse. They're attached to my brain via electric pulses." I answered. I put my food in a hole in the ground and covered it with a wooden slab. I giggled hysterically and launched myself onto Yuki. I giggled wickedly and held Yuki close. He looked at me like I was crazy and I looked back up at him innocently.
