Eggman's base is nestled within one of the archipelago islands of Emerald Coast. The main beach and surrounding islands are a popular tourist destination, mostly because of it's relaxed ambience atmosphere, cool waters to wade in, and the sun's radiant rays that shimmer on the coarse sandy beaches. The coast of Station Square also has a boardwalk that draws the eyes and pockets of anyone that passes by it's food and toy stands.
However, the locals and tourists make the best of it by diverting their attention away from Eggman's base, which is an incredible eyesore. On one island three miles left from the main coast lacks much vegetation, with ugly gray rectangle buildings and metal pipes as the scenery. Smog continuously emerges from pillars that blocks much of the sapphire sky. The only signs of life on that island is robots perfectly designed to follow Eggman's command with no will.
Team Chaotix knew the only way to reach his base is by traveling on foot. They parked their vehicle on a lot and made their way through the beaches, boardwalks, and swam through the waters, careful not to disturb an orca that made the coast it's home.
After arriving on Eggman's island, they manage to find thick ferns to hide in as they surveyed the area.
"Looks like he has a half dozen moto bugs to alert intruders, with over a dozen each of beetle bots and mantis bots for defense." Vector said as he watched the moto bugs moving in straight left to right motions. Behind them, the mantis bots stood ground, ready for an attack. Beetle bots were behind them as well, half buzzed in the air and the rest positioned on the ground.
"The only way we can get through all of them is attacking them at the same time." Stated Espio.
"That's what we'll do." said Vector. "Even though we're totally outnumbered, we can easily mop the floor with these badniks. You and Charmy take care of the moto and mantis bots, I'll deal with the beetle bots and get us through that door."
Both Espio and Charmy nodded in agreement. They each stacked a hand on theirs, they were in this together.
"Alright team, let's get 'The Case of the Missing Dogs' finish! 3...2...1.."
"TEAM CHAOTIX!"
The trio emerge from the ferns and made their charge to Eggman's robots. Before the rows of motobugs could signal an alarm of their presence, Charmy broke them by jumping on their heads with his stinger, followed by swift kicks and punches. Espio threw ninja stars at the mantis bots, slicing their claw like blades clean off. However, they tried to dash at him, but with a single long rope tied to a kunai knife that he threw at their direction, caused them to trip and fall.
The true muscle of the team was Vector. He ran straight for the beetle bots, the ones flying dropped their leg bombs. He dodged their attacks, saw a beetle bot flying within arms reach and grabbed it from the air. He toss it to the remaining beetle bots charging to him. Vector used those bots to his advantage. He was able to grab two in each hand and threw them at those that were still flying. It rained metal and oil.
They destroyed all the badniks in record time.
"Great going boys!" Said Vector proudly. "Now, stand back, I'm gonna ram this door in."
After backing up a few steps, he charged to the door and broke through it with ease, allowing them access to the main hallway.
"What's with all the noise?" Asked a robot heading into the commotion. Orbot, followed by Cubot, are Eggman's sentient robots that serve him 24/7. They appeared just as Team Chaotix made their way through Eggman's now totaled door.
"Oh no! We got to warn the boss!" Orbot cried out. He and Cubot was stopped by Espio who appeared out of thin air, blocking them from running away. Vector's shadow darken over the two quivering bots.
