Team Chaotix - The Case of The Missing Dogs

Chapter 11

Thursday, 12:34 AM; 9 hours left to pay electric bill;

Vector immediately phoned two people. 

One, the general of G.U.N to arrest Rough and Tumble. The trio made sure the skunk brothers won't escape, and felt a satisfaction watching the dog nappers in hand cuffs and escorted to a G.U.N truck. They won't be stealing any dogs anytime soon.

"Their cells won't hold us for long! We'll be out, and then we're coming for you!" Said Tumble as he and Rough were loaded into the truck.

"You've made life long enemies of... Rough and Tumble!" Said Rough when the doors of the truck closed and started driving them away.

"While you're there, work on your poetry skills!" Mocked Charmy.

Second, he phoned Holly to inform her of them finding the dogs which are now safe and sound. 

"OH MY GOSH!" Cried Holly. "I'll inform Kate and Swift right away! Please meet us at the shelter pronto!" 

It was however, gonna be difficult to round up 33 dogs of medium to large size, with each having different temperaments and energy levels. They only had enough room in their vehicle to transport 8. In the end, Vector decided to use Rough and Tumble's van, which was perfect to transport the remaining 25 dogs. 

"Uh, Vector, I found an insurance document, this van doesn't belong to Rough and Tumble, it was stolen two weeks ago." Said Espio when he notice a slip of paper under the front passenger seat. It was an insurance paper with a companies name on it, proof it belonged to someone else.

"We'll hand this van over to G.U.N. and tell them it's stolen." Replied Vector. "But first, we gotta take these dogs back to the shelter."

They arrived in record time and so did the shelter staff. Vector took notice that the news had to be so sudden for them, they were in their pajamas. He was glad though that the night weather wasn't too chilly for them, he would hate to see them catch a cold. When they backed the van and their vehicle to the front door, the shelter staff jumped for joy and cheered.

"They're all here!" They said happily when the doors were opened and was greeted by barking tail wagging dogs. "Team Chaotix, would you please help us put them in their kennels for the night? We decided they aren't going to be adopted until they all see our vet in the morning. We wanna make sure they're ok, but I can see from them that they're happy to see us again." Requested Holly.

"We'd be glad to help you all once more." Replied Espio.

"Who stole them?" Asked Kate.

"It was actually Eggman who hired two skunk brothers to do the dirty business for him. By working with him, those two had a window opportunity to conduct more shady doings. Unfortunately, he was going to use the dogs for an evil plan, but there's nothing to worry anymore. Eggman is defeated and his stinky henchmen are in G.U.N. custody." Said Vector.

The shelter staff was stunned by what he said. Holly clench her hands into fists.

"How can anyone be that cruel?!" She said angrily.

Espio, sensing her anger, walked close to her.

"Remember, what really matters is that they're here and in no more harm's way." He consoled. With those words, Holly nodded and smiled.

After some time of helping the dogs comfortable, fed, watered, and loved, the shelter staff took in the environment of the large kennel room. Seeing kennels which was once empty and lifeless, are now filled with life and opportunity. They turned and walked to Team Chaotix who was offering a treat to a poodle mix.
