The Secret Meeting with the Queens Part 2
A/N: I am limiting her powers to fire, earth, plant, ice, water, metal, and air. As with everything else, it is a little (OK a lot) too complicated to make it seem feasible within Pyrrhia's lore and just to make things a lot less complicated so the story isn't half story and half me trying to quantify everything else about her power.))
"So," Thorn said, watching as the rocks Spirit used to point a sharpened point at the icewing guards reformed into their original shape, fitting so perfectly into place it was impossible to tell that it had ever been moved. "Are you going to explain it or are we going to have to guess?" Thorn said, her deep black obsidian eyes watching her in a little suspicion, this power was strong, stronger than animus magic it seemed, or at the very least it didn't seem to have any negative side effects.
Spirit gave a half shrug of her wings. "What is there to say, I don't even know how I got the powers, but I can say that I can control different items and substances, but I'm not sure how I can do it, I just..... Know that I can." She said helplessly, unsure what to tell the queens that her parents hadn't. "OK well then tell us about the things you can do." Coral pressed, not willing to let the young dragoness off with such a cryptic answer.
Spirit wasn't trying to be cryptic, just telling what she knew. "Well I mean as you saw I can stop anything made of metal flying towards me also I can manipulate the earth and dirt." She continued but found herself pausing as she hadn't practiced all that much with her power, since she didn't want to be caught.
"Well?" Snowfall snarled, getting irritated already, it seemed she was even more impatient than she would have been if it was one of her tribe that had this gift. "Don't snap at me, forgive me your royal pain in the tail but I didn't showcase these powers just because I could." Spirit snapped at her before she could stop herself. "I was careful because I know just how poorly animus is treated, I didn't need to be experimented on or forced to do anything I didn't want to or Moons above be KILLED because of my gift." She looked at Queen's Glory, Coral, and then Ruby in quick succession. Her barb was well placed, if not nearing the realm of insult for mentioning things that were supposed to be over and done with.
And from the looks on their faces, Spirit's jabs hit their marks, not to mention Snowfall's eyes flared with anger. "And what makes us believe you are telling the truth of you never practicing?" Spirit bared her teeth, not even caring this was a queen she was speaking to. "I didn't say I never practiced! I said I didn't showcase my powers. I did practice, in secret because I didn't want power hungry-"
"Spirit!" Thorn finally snapped, cutting her off. "Enough, we are here to learn, and from what your parents told us you are already good enough to control it without accidentally hurting anyone else," Thorn said, moorhen glaring at Snowfall to get her to drop it as well, as if another argument starts the queens would likely not be able to get to the point of this meeting. Reluctantly the ice queen agreed.
"All we want to know," Ruby said. "Who else knows, what your limits are, and what you plan on doing with them?" She asked, her eyes were steady, but a small amount of concern was on her face. Since her tribe lived in the mountains she was concerned about what would happen if she turned evil all of a sudden. She and the other queens were all nervous about it, especially since none of them had ever seen this power before.
"As far as I know only me, my parents, you all, and Hope know about it." Spirit began. "As for what the limits are, as far as I know, the limits are the elements able to be manipulated and my energy levels. The more I use this power the more drained I get. Kind of how you feel after swimming through a maelstrom all day long." Spirit tried her best to explain. "And for what I plan to do with them. I don't know, I mean all I want to do is to help others and become a scientist If I am honest." Spirit said with a half-shrug.
5 out of the 6 queens seemed satisfied with that, but of course, there was one who didn't seem to are about what the other's thought. "That would be a lot more convincing if we could believe a word you say." Snowfall hissed, causing Spirit to roll her eyes. "Well unfortunately i don't have the ability to show you that what I say is the truth," Spirit muttered under her breath, but quickly fell silent as Glory glared at her.
"Why not give us a better example? Show us a bit more of how you use it, maybe then I can make sure you aren't speaking lies." Snowfall asked, her eyes narrowing to nearly slits. "You could have just asked," Spirit grumbled, thinking for a moment. "Alright, blast some frost breath at me and I'll show you," Spirit said, stepping back as the ice rune on her chest began to glow, preparing for the attack.
Snowfall, at the very least, gave her a moment to prepare for this, as she didn;t wish to cause an incident. In fact she just truly wanted to know the truth of it all, unlike her mother snowfall was more reasonable. As soon as she blasted a decent length of frostbreath she stopped, watching for what Spirit would do
Spirit gave and outstretched talon, the frost breath, instead of freeing her arm, gathered into a ball hovering in front of her. She twisted her talon inot a more circle shape, using her other talon to "mold" the ice as if she was carving clay. Soon it was a lovely-looking chandelier. "Does that explain your inquiry?" She asked, gently laying the new chandelier on the table. It was made of pure ice, carved with many elaborate designs and each spot where a candle should go was instead carved shapes of everything from diamonds to emeralds and even a few small mountains.
Needless to say that Snowfal was quite impressed, using a claw to trace one of the designs that looked similar to a frozen topaz, one of the few natural gems that the icewings had in their frozen tundra. "Quite intriguing." She said, a little more relaxed now. It seems it was somethingof a metnal ability and not something that was absolute. Snowfall had noticed just how much concentration Spirit needed to use to use her power. That could allow for counterattacks if Spirit ever needed to be stopped.
"I believe that is all we have to ask." Glory said. "You will be escorted back to Jade Mountain, and while it goes without saying you are not to speak about this to anyone." She said firmly.
"No issue there," Spirit said as the icewing guard placed the blindfold on her. "Besides, no one would ever believe me If I told them that the Icewing queen actually had a soft side." She grinned. The fact Snowfall hand't conmplained she made something as useless as a chandelier for the ice kingdom told Spirit all she needed to know about the difference between her and her mother.
"Oh shush you." Thorn chuckled, remembering the conversation she had with Snowfall a few years ago. "Get going before that smart mouth of yours get you into trouble. You may have Moon's brains but you certainly have Qiblis mouth."
Spirit grinned, turning as the guard began to guide her. "I'm just SAYING." She said, causing Glory to snort with laughter, that was just how Qibli had said it back in the rainforest. "Get her back now, before she gets any more like her father and starts telling jokes." Glory chuckles, shaking her head.
Once Spirit was escorted out SNowfall picked up the chandelier. "Its truly impressive, when it comes to creating. But what are we going to if she uses it for destruction?" Snowfall asked, finally speaking the question that none of them wanted to ask, but the one that was by far the most important TO ask.
And not one of the other queens had an answer....
