Chapter 2- Friends

"Good morning Sonic! " Tails called out to him still sleeping in bed, at 10am.

"Uehh, 5 minutes! " He shouted and slammed back his face into his pillow.

"Get up already, you've been saying that for hours now! " Tails replied while rolling his eyes.

"Mmmm fineee. " Sonic complied.

He walked down the creeky stairs, almost falling down halfway. He sat upon the blue couch and layed down across from Tails, in the kitchen.

"Woah, you look like you haven't slept for days? How long were you up last night? " Tails questioned him.

"Like 9pm? We left around 8, I walked Amy home, I talked to shadow while walking back here, that's at least half 8 for sure. When I came back I hopped into bed and tried to sleep and around 9 I fell asleep. " Sonic explained.

"What? How could you still be sleepy!? " Tails enquired.

"I need my beauty sleep Tails. " Sonic responded.

"But that's 8 hours? " Tails chuckled.

"Whatever, whatever, " Sonic said "What's for breakfast? "

"Eggs and bacon! " Tails yelled across from the kitchen.

"Ouuuu sounds yummy! " Sonic giggled in excitement.

"Yeah, it'll be ready in 10 minutes." Tails responded.

"Wait how come your making breakfast at, lemme see 10:06?" Sonic asked.

"I woke up at 9am this morning, usually I get up 8 but we stayed out a bit late last night and I had a project to work on for Amy. " Tails answered.

"I see, what did she want? " Sonic asked curiously.

"Nothing important, just a lie detector thing. " He replied.

"What does she need that for? " Sonic then again asked like a 5 year old child asking how babies are made.

"I don't know actually, I never questioned her. " Tails said.

"Oh I guess I'll ask her later today, we're going on a date! " Sonic told Tails.

"Breakfast is ready, come sit at the table. " Tails shouted before he could respond. "Oh really? Tell me about it at the table. "

Tails took his food from the pan and put it on a plate for himself and let Sonic choose his portion of food.
Sonic sat across from Tails, closer to the living room.

"Basically, I'm carrying her to this cliff, with a great view of the moon, and have a nice dinner, " he paused in between sentences to munch on his food.

"I see, I see, that's nice, " Tails responded. "How was the wall last night? Did you all do the lovey dovey stuff I said was gonna happen? " Tails asked giggling.

"Well yeah, I kissed her before I left her house. " Sonic replied blushingly.

"Ouuuu, " Tails said teasingly.

"I met Shadow on my way back too! I got to thank him. " Sonic added.

"Oh yeah, that reminds me, I think he came around half 9 this morning asking if you were awake, he wanted to talk I assume. " Tails told him.

"Huh, I wonder what he wanted to talk about? We already talked last night. " Sonic questioned.

"I thought he wanted to talk about the Prism but you said you already did so I don't know what else it could be. " Tails said as he took his and Sonic's plate into the sink.

"Well if I see him I'll ask about it. " Sonic replied.

"Okay, I'm gonna work on that project again," Tails said as he walked out the door to his workshop.

"Okay, byeee. " Sonic responded.

"Byee."

"I wonder what Shadow wanted to talk about." Sonic questioned himself.

He walked upstairs and went to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready.
When he was finished he heard something downstairs.

"Knock! Knock! "

"Comingg, " he yelled as he sprinted down the stairs.

"Hey! " Sonic said surprised as he saw Shadow.
"Oh hi, faker" he said laughingly.

"Hello, loverboy." He responded.

"How dare you, only my friends can call me that. " he said jokingly and rolled his eyes.

"Wow, am I not your friend? " Shadow said teasingly back.

"No, no I was joking, but do you consider yourself my friend? " Sonic asked.

"Well I wanted to talk to you about that. " Shadow said blushingly.

"Come in, you want some coffee? I can make some. " Sonic welcomed him inside.

Shadow sat on the blue sofa and Sonic standed incase he had to go to the kitchen for the coffee.

"No thanks, I already had some coffee beans this morning? " Shadow responded.

"RAW?! " Sonic shouted.

"Yes, they're one of my favourite foods in fact. " Shadow said.

"How come? " Sonic asked.

"I don't know, they taste good I suppose. " he replied to the blue hedgehog.

"Well I can't agrue with that! " Sonic responded.

He sat beside Shadow.
He faced turned red but he turned away before Sonic could see. He wasn't this close to Sonic before unless they were fighting.

"So what did you want to talk about? " Sonic asked.

"I wanted to know if we could be friends? I realized during the things that happened with the prism, that I don't want to kill you and your not half bad. " he said timidly. He was afraid Sonic would say no. After all he liked him now and actually wanted to be friends.

"Of course! I mean I considered you one since the beginning of the prism. " he enthusiastically replied.
"So now that we're friends, do you want to hang out sometime and talk, get to actually know each other since we always fight? " Sonic chuckled.

"Sure, I have a day off today actually. " Shadow replied. "Are you free? "

"Unless egghead shows up, I am! " he responded. "I have a date with Amy at 8pm so I have to leave a little before that to get ready. "

"Oh, " Shadow said a little crushed. "Since when you two started dating? "

"Yesterday, I realized I loved her and confessed as soon as possible, I didn't want to talk any chances! " he said chuckling.

"I see, well congratulations you both! " he forced the words to come out his mouth.
Inside his heart was crushed.

"So you wanna hang out now? I have some games in my room we could play and chat." Sonic asked the black, heartbroken hedgehog.

"Yeah, let's go. " he replied.

"Great! " he shouted and grabbed Shadow and dragged him upstairs.

"Ahhh, what are you doing? " Shadow screamed.

"Hehe! " Sonic giggled.

His heart was beating fastly.
He liked the way Sonic laughed, it reminds him of something happy. He doesn't know what exactly. As they rushed up the stairs, his heart pounded faster each second. Faster than Sonic could ever run.

As he, loves the hedgehog so very much.
