You have been her knight for many years now and have formed a bond with her wether it's romantic or platonic is completely up to you.
You have coddled and fed into liylas delusions as to not hurt her feelings as she was much different and much more fragile then her sisters.you realize now throughout this journey that was a big mistake
Arcadias knight/second in command:

You had known her since childhood you were supposed to be her knight but as time passed you and the king realized that wasn't necessary but he still kept you at her side and once she took on the role of lady commander she titled you her second in command
Cherrys second in command:
(Male or female)
You grew up in the castle quite close to cherry as you father had been lord commander/general for many years.
The two of you how grown a strong bond like no other and once you were old enough to understand your feelings you two started dating in secret as who the princess would marry or end up with started to become a big deal.

You were the lord commander in the zugludvar imperial army for many years. You were even there when the true "king" was picked up off the streets by the late queen
Because of a prophecy that was misunderstood for so long the child pretended to be a boy only you the queen and a few others knew the truth over time you and the child grew a bond
Later in life you had finally retired and gave your title to the princess
Right after this she came to you with a proposition
That you would stand in her place as king and she would pretend to be the kings hand (adviser )
Because you knew the public pressure was to much on her
And in return you would her hand (adviser) and the only member of the kings guard a group of knights who are sworn to protect the king no matter what
This would be a well kept secret between the two and a few others

You will play a few academy students male and female as many as you wish during liylas academy arc
Considering even a few teachers even
Like I said you are still allowed to fill or come up with any ideas with the free countries and add to the stories these are just roles that must be filled by you :)
