Chapter 3. Wide awake

Livvy's P.O.V

I followed was carried to a room by papa,

"Alright Livvy it's late, I suggest you get some sleep."

He kissed my forehead and I smiled. He left the room closing the door. I sat on the bed looking around. I noticed the television in front of my bed on a table. I clicked the big button and it turned on. It was quiet but enough for me to hear. 

........

I turned off the T.V as I got bored. I looked at the glowing this saying,

2:00 Am.

I remember the animals on the show I was watching, I wanted to be those animals but I wanted to show papa. I stood up and opened the door, the kitchen lights were on so I walked in there. A man stood there with a mug in his hand. 

He turned and noticed me,

"Oh, hello little girl what are you doing awake you should sleep."

I tilted my head. Sleep?

"Well I guess you don't want to sleep," he mumbled.

"Where's papa," I asked.

He looked confused.

"Papa? Who's Papa?"

I frowned. He shook his head,

"Look kid go to sleep."

I stood there and I saw his eyes darken. Something was popping out of his hand as he gripped tighter on his mug. I put my hand in a fist and noticed nothing was popping out of my hand. He growled louder,

"Go back to bed."

"No," I looked up at him.

His mug suddenly cracked and broke to pieces pouring out what smelled strong.

Coffee.

It landed on my skin and steam came from it. I didn't feel like nothing.

"Doesn't that hurt," he asked.

"No," I mumbled.

Foot steps came down from the stairs and there stood papa.

"Papa," I squealed.

I hugged his leg.

"Oh hello Alpha is this your kid."

"It's the experiment I've been working on."

Experiment?

"Oh, can she feel pain?" he asked.

"Yeah, why."

"Well she didn't feel the hot coffee on her hand."

Papa suddenly checked my arm,

"Why does he have stuff popping out his arm when he's angry," I asked.

"Angry?" Papa questioned.

The man suddenly gave a small laugh.

"Those are my veins," he answered.

I looked at my hand.

"You don't have veins Livvy," Papa asked.

"Then what do I have."

He didn't answer.

"Go to bed Livvy," he said.

"And do what?"

"Sleep."

I tilted my head at the word again. 

"Sleeping is when you lay down and close your eyes and you dream."

I nodded and walked back to my room. I laid down and closed my eyes. I can't dream.

I opened my eyes and sighed. I looked out my window to see it was still dark. 

"What to do, what to do," I mumbled. 

Once again I looked out the window to see guards. Why do they get to go outside at night. I noticed the window had a lock. I pried open the lock and opened the window. I was on the secound floor, I jumped down and landed on my feet. I walked towards the woods, I noticed wolfs in the distance. 

I wanted to join them so I shifted into a wolf and walked towards one of them. The wolf turned and noticed me, he jumped back and growled. I tilted my head, he sniffed me. He got closer and sniffed me. He growled and pushed me back towards the house. I growled back,

"Livvy!"

I turned to see papa. 

"Livvy! What are you doing your not suppose to be here."

I lowered my head, he sighed and laid his hand on my head.

"Come on it's Five in the morning."

I watched the sun go up,

"Isn't she suppose to be like a human, sleep."

"Well we can't make a normal human. She has some stuff that normal humans like us don't do."

I turned to see Papa and Dan come in the kitchen. 

"Hello Livvy, come on we have some training to do."

I nodded and followed them outside. 

"Papa, can I try something that I saw on T.V"

"Um, okay."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath I opened them and stared at the target. I felt my bones crack and I was closer to the ground. 

"A fox," Dan said amazed. 

I charged at the dummy and ripped it, I threw it to Dan. I closed my eyes and re-opened them to be a little taller. 

"Cheetah."

He threw the dummy and I charged at it easily catching it and running back. I placed it on the floor and changed to myself. They clapped smiling,

"Awesome! Good job Livvy."

I smiled.

"I think were ready Brad, instead of taking down the second to smallest back lets take down one of the medium size pack. We can do it with just her."

"I don't know," Papa said thinking

"I mean she's new at this, what if Livvy can't take down the alpha."

"I can," I said.

"I'll do anything you say Papa," I smiled.

He smiled and nodded,

"Get the guards ready we're going."
