One second passed. Then two.

A finger tapped on the two's hands.

"Why isn't it working?" Danaju asked. Her finger tapped on their hands, mostly Takemichi's, a few more times.

"That's a good question..." Takemichi muttered as he stared in disbelief at his and Naoto's hands, which were, by the way, still being tapped on like they were an old game console that needed some extra help to start. His bewildered eyes looked up and locked with Naoto's.

Finally, Naoto released Takemichi's hand, effectively disrupting Danaju's attempt at trying to get it to work. "I see..." he muttered after a moment as he brought his hand to his chin in a thinking manner.

"What? Can you explain, Naoto?"

"Takemichi... I guess it's because I don't have the drive to change this current future. In short, we've accomplished the goals that caused the trigger to timeleap."

"Huh?"

"Well, it's just a hypothesis... It's a possibility that the trigger won't function without the strong drive to change the past."

Danaju let out a small sigh. "Makes sense..."

After a couple of seconds, the twins' eyes widened. Having the same thought, they locked eyes. Then, without hesitation, they shook each other's hand.

Again, a second passed. Then two. Then three.

"Damn it!"

With a small sigh, Baji tapped the "end call" button and slid his phone into his pocket.

"Everything good?" Kazutora asked as he poked his head into the break room.

"Yeah, I'm just gonna need a ride home."

"Oof. Something happen between you guys?" he asked, stepping fully into the room. The store wasn't busy, so Chifuyu could manage for a few minutes.

"No, nothin' like that," Baji replied, shaking his head. "Someone definitely pissed her off though."

"That doesn't take much though." Kazutora gave a light chuckle.

With a small chortle, Baji agreed.

The streets of Shibuya were dark by now, but that didn't stop people from filling the sidewalks and streets. All sorts of shops and stores were still open at this hour, so there wasn't a shortage of things to do or places to see.

Eventually, Danaju came across the place she was looking for. The building was grey with large display windows showcasing the fifteen or so motorbikes lined up inside. Above the door and windows, printed in large letters, was, "D&D Motors." She furrowed her brows slightly, thinking the place looked familiar. With a small shake of her head, she headed inside.

Once she opened the door, a small chime sounded overhead. "I'll be there in a moment!!" a deep voice sounded from the back.

"Take your time, Kenny!" she called back before beginning to look at the bikes. The setup reminded her of the time she, Draken, and Mikey picked out her bike. She smiled for a moment at the memory, but after a second, it morphed into a small frown. Having the confirmation that Mikey was the leader of an infamous yakuza group still weighed heavily on her mind. She still didn't understand why things turned out like this. Why they kept ending up like this.

The clomping of Draken's heavy footsteps brought her out of her thoughts. "Danny? Didn't expect to see you here," Draken commented as he wiped his oily hands with an old stained rag.
