vanraj :

I drew in a sharp breath tearing off the sheet before me.
I felt sick and tired.

Yeh log shayri poetry kar kaise lete hai?! Mujhse toh ek line nehi likhi jaa rahi!

Tomorrow was Valentine's Day.
And as a certified ek tarfa aashiq, I should try to do something creative.
I had made so many official presentations in just half an hour, but writing two lines of poetry seemed like a near death experience.

I stared at the empty page.

Pehli line socho Vannu.. pehli line..

I looked out of the window of the room.
It was late at night.
I pushed back my spectacles and wrote,

Raat Akeli Hai

anupamaa :

I sat at the park the next evening.
Valentine's Day, it was.
The city was dressed with hearts and roses.
Perfect for people with a Valentine's partner.

I looked at my palm.
Kanha ji yeh kaisi prem ki rekha bana di aapne?
I sighed and straightened up.

Anuj walked into the park.
I stood up, a little taken aback.

A bouquet of flowers and beaming smile.
I guess I had been led into a facade. This has everything to do with valentine's day, and not my Bebli.
I sighed.
Why was I so foolish sometimes?

He walked down to me wearing a brown suit, spectacles today as well.
"Kahiye Mister Kapadia.", I said, keeping my tone as formal as possible.
"Anu.. Happy Valentine's Day.", He said softly giving me the bouquet of flowers.
I gulped and took it.

Anu, mat le! Ab yeh tumhare nehi hai!
I took the bouquet and placed it on a seat.

vanraj :

I stared at the scene before me.
Anupamaa, with Anuj and a bouquet.
I held a bouquet in my hand with a folded sheet of paper.
The poem.

I gulped, feeling something break inside me.
Too optimistic I had been, isn't it?
I immediately turned, my hand gave away as the bouquet fell to the ground, along with the sheet.

I walked away.

anupamaa :

"Thank you tum mujhse-"

"Kya kehna tha aapko?"
Today was not in a very good mood.
Definitely not romantic.

"Anu.. tumhare bina hum khush nehi hai. Mai, Aadhya.. hum dono-"

"Paanch saal khush nehi the aap dono? Ya yeh dukh ki shuruwat mujhe hi dekhkar hui?", I asked straight away.
