Hazbin Hotel 31 Day One Shot Challenge

Charlie's Birthday

No fun titles, the title is the prompt. I thought it would be funny if the Hotel threw her a birthday party.

Charlie, the one in the hotel known for making so many overlapping plans that she forgets other important dates. This became obvious to Vaggie in her relationship with the Hellborn as she had forgotten her own birthday. While it was a downside to forget about such an important date, it was perfect for Vaggie to throw a surprise party.

"Okay, I will only be gone for a few hours. Rosie asked to meet with me out of the blue. You can handle everything here, right?" Charlie asked.

"I can handle things, Honey. It will be fine. You just find out what Roise wants. I can handle things here." Vaggie said with a smile.

Charlie sighed before she gave her girlfriend a hug. "Bye everyone! I'll see you in a few hours!!!" She waved to the hotel before she left.

"Alright everyone, Charlie is gone. Ready to get this hotel ready for Charlie's birthday?" Vaggie turned to the others.

"Any excuse to throw a party. I mean, I go to plenty, so I know what will make a wonderful party perfect for Charlie." Angel said with a grin.

"Umm, yeah, whatever your thoughts are, we are not doing." Vaggie said.

"What? Why not?" Angel asked.

"Because you will try to bring in any kind of drug you can get your hands on because those are the parties you always describe to us." Vaggie said.

"Well, you are not wrong, but I have a real idea. I thought I could bake cupcakes for the party. I made cupcakes with her the other day." Angel said. "They turned out great and they didn't have any drugs in them."

Vaggie thought for a moment. "Okay, they were pretty good, fine you can do the cupcakes. Niffty, make sure that this place is spotless and I will help with the decorations. Pentious, you and the egg boiz, work on wrapping the gifts that are hidden on the third floor room 5. Husk, can you get party drinks set up? Alastor... can you make that jambalaya you made that day we met you?"

Alastor hummed. "I guess this is the perfect excuse to make my mama's jambalaya."

"Well, okay. We only have a few hours. Let's get this going." Vaggie said.

The hotel crew made a split. Alastor and Angel in the kitchen, Pentious on floor three, Niffty and Vaggie in the main room, and Husk was at the barkeep.

Husker knew many party drinks, so he prepared a few in bowls. Some with alcohol and some without. A variety that he was sure the Princess would approve of.

Niffty loved making the decorations, but Vaggie did have to move the ones that had a bunch that had dead bugs on them to the back.

Alastor and Angel worked on their respective dishes, but made small conversation. Alastor gave Angel some small notes about his technique, somethings that he learned from his mother. Angel and Alastor got on the topic of how they had bad fathers and wonderful mothers.

Pentious and the egg boiz got a bit wrapped up in the wrapping to the point were they thought they would be stuck in there for hours. Luckily, Keekee found them and was enticed by the wrapping paper she clawed it up to shreds.

After everything was on place, Vaggie looked around at the work and smiled. "This is looking amazing. Charlie is going to love it."

"Yeah, when is Charlie going to be back, anyway?" Angel asked.

"A few minutes. Rosie was in on this. She knows the time Charlie needs to be back by." Vaggie said with a smile.

Suddenly, the crew heard the door knob at the front jiggle. "Hey guys, I'm back!" Charlie looked at the others, eyes wide.

"Surprise!"

"I... what is all this?"

"Hon, it's your birthday." Vaggie said.

"What? No.. it's.... Wait... maybe it is." Charlie said.

"You do this every year. So, I thought it would be a fun idea if we threw you a surprise party." Vaggie said, taking her hand. "Everyone here pitched in, and everything fell into place."

Charlie looked around the hotel with a wide smile. "Thank you guys so much. Everything looks amazing. And do I smell cupcakes and that jambalaya Alastor made us?"

"Yup. Angel made the cupcakes, and Alastor made jambalaya. Niffty helped out with the decorations. Pentious did an excellent job on wrapping the gifts, and Husk provided us with the drinks. Oh and Rosie provided us with a distraction."

"So that's why she called me out of the blue." Charlie said. "Well, I am beyond happy about this."

"You're always doing things for us, Charlie. So when your little girlfriend asked us to help out with this little surprise, we thought it would be nice to do this." Angel said. "Now, are you just going to stand around or are you going to go blow out the candles on your cupcakes?"

Charlie smiled. This party was more than she could ever have asked for. And they all did it themselves. Even if redemption seemed impossible, at least she managed to make these amazing friends out of these sinners.

A/N: again, I had nothing planned for today. I had a long day and I actually almost forgot about this. I got wrapped up in my homework until I realized I didn't even post something today. So I literally wrote this up really quickly. It's not the best, but at least it's something. I'll see you tomorrow.
