Day 14 - Cherri and Pentious's date

I thought it would be cute if Cherri and Pentious went on a date. Like, he actually managed to ask her out the day before the battle and yeah. Not gonna be too long. I just think they are cute.

Pentious looked at the love of his life, Cherri Bomb. Once his enemy, but now someone he admires. Who wouldn't love her? She was beautiful, funny, and a joy to be around.

Plus, she had been an admirable opponent to the snake demon for years. They were always going back and forth on turf wars. He would take her territory, she would take it right back. She always made a grand entrance on the scene.

The exact moment Pentious fell for her was unclear, but the real moment he realized he had feelings was the day that she took them out into town to that one little bar. He tried so hard to ask her out, but chickened out each time and said that he was only asking her because he was doing it for everyone.

After that embarrassing day, Pentious would try his best to figure out his words. He would practice to his Egg Boiz and even to himself in the mirror. It was not fun. He even tried with Angel, but he made the snake more uncomfortable than helpful. But in the bright side, he was rooting for him.

Pentious did ask Angel for advice on what Cherri liked, but it wasn't always helpful. The only thing he was able to get out of Angel was her favorite kind of drink, and some activities that the two of them used to do together as friends.

However, as time went by and the extermination date just around the corner, it seemed as if he would never be able to ask her out. She was over here a lot more often than normal, helping train the cannibals on a fight. As well as infuse angelic steel into her bombs.

He would watch her from a distance, and anytime she looked over, he would make himself look busy. He had so many opportunities to ask her, but he failed each time. His fear getting the best of him.

"Hey, Pentious... are you okay?" The princess asked.

"Oh, Miss Charlotte. Yes, I am okay. I was just admiring, um, the hotel before battle." he answered.

"Are you sure about that? It seemed to me as if you kept looking over it Cherri." Charlie said.

"Oh, well, the thing is, I may or may not have an admiration for her. I just can't bring myself to tell her." The snake answered.

Charlie stared at him for a moment before her eyes went wide and she smiled. "Oh my gosh, you should ask her out, or tell her how you feel. You are an amazing person after getting to know you. And she knows that you are not her enemy anymore. So she won't try and attack you. I think you should go for it. We're not even sure how tomorrow will go. I'm sure it will be fine, but I think you're still there now before anything else happens. Tonight is for you guys to have one more fun day before we go against the Angels." Charlie encouraged.

Pentious thought for a moment. "Maybe you are right, Miss Charlotte. I would love to tell her how I feel, I'm just nervous too."

"I'll have Vaggie talk to her for a bit, have her talk about you, and then after a moment, you and her will switch, and you can Tell her how you feel."

"You came up with that plan rather quickly."

"Yeah, I'm going to be honest, we kind of knew. We are already doing that." Charlie admitted.

"What?"

"It may or may not have been Angel who told us how you feel about her, and what you've been doing has kind of spread."

"Oh, I see."

"I suggest that you just go up to her, ask her by name, and tell her exactly what you feel." Charlie said.

"If you say so. All right, I'll do it."

"Yes!" Charlie smiled widely.

He made his way over to Cherri, switching places with Vaggie and holding his hat in his hands. "Um, hello there Ms bomb. I just wanted to tell you something important. I was hoping you and I could talk for a little bit. Maybe get something to drink?"

Cherri looked at him and blinked. "Are you asking me on a date? And if you are, you're not asking everyone on a date, correct?"

"What? No, wait, Yes, no. One moment. I am asking you on a date, and no one else."

"All right. I kind of was already aware of your plan. Angel kind of spilled the tea. I wouldn't mind going out with you. You seem like a nice guy. Who knows what's going to happen tomorrow. Might as well have a fun night tonight." Cherri said.

"Oh, I wasn't expecting you to say yes. Thank you so much for wanting to go out with me."

"Well, like I said, we have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow." Cherri shrugged. "add not to mention, after spending some time around here, and around you, you're not a bad person. Come on, let's go over to the bar and get a drink. This time, the drink is on me."

Pentious smiled, and made a decision not to say anything in case he ruined the part of him and her going to the bar. He did comment on how she looked, and that he was excited to fight with her. He told her that he had enjoyed their fights on the battlefield, now this time, they were going to fight together but on the same side. She told him that his inventions may not have worked against her, but they were cool and she complimented him on his unique visions.

They had a couple of drinks, The two of them made it back to the hotel.

"Cherri, I know you are an amazing person in battle, I have watched you fight many a times. When we fight tomorrow, I want you to know that I will make sure nothing happens to you. I will watch you back as your comrade and friend." Pentious promised.

"Well, I'll look after you as well."

"Cherri, I do have feelings for you. I wasn't sure how to tell you, but Charlie suggested that I just tell you up front. I believe I started to like you after many encounters. I believe that is what encouraged me to keep trying to take your territory. It was the only way I could see you. The only time I saw you." Pentious said. "I know that I am not the best with my words, but I at least wanted you to know that I do admire you a lot."

Before the girl could respond, he pulled her close and kissed her. His face flushed, he quickly retreated to his room.

Cherri blinked. "Crazy snake, he didn't even wait for my response."

A/N: I thought they were a cute couple in the show, so I thought I would write them as an actual couple or something where they actually went out and he was able to tell her before he died. This was a cute way of doing that. I'll see you tomorrow.
