Day 10 - Cynophobia

Cynophobia - the fear of dogs.

Demons are creatures that are to be feared. Especially those of us with immense power. There isn't much that scares me. There may only be three things on that list.

People finding out about my deal.

People thinking I have gone soft.

And dogs.

Why would dogs be my fear? Before I died, it was their teeth that was ripping into my flesh. Their vicious snarl echoed in my head.

Ever since then, I never liked the creatures. I may have been a hunter, but I never used hunting dogs. They spoil the fun.

Even demons that resemble dogs, I try to avoid. If I cannot avoid them, I find some way to annihilate them.

So when Charlie came home with a puppy... it was then and there that I made myself scarce.

Keeping an eye on the hotel from a distance, I let my shadow feed me what was going on. The dog has practically taken over the hotel. Biting on all of the furniture and anything else it can sink its teeth in. The little vermin laid its filth everywhere. Poor little Niffty.

I don't know how, but Angel managed to find me. Husker too. The two of them are peas in a pod. They both can read me pretty well. I will blame the fact that Husker is tied to me through the deal and has been with me for many years. Angel, I have no clue.

"I told you we would find him up here." A rough voice said.

"Heya, Al. Ya doing alright?" Angel asked with concern.

I brushed him off, telling him I was all right. "It's nothing my fine fellow. Just needed to get away."

"From what? The Hotel?" Angel asked.

"Nope." Husker said. "Alastor isn't a fan of dogs." The cat smirked.

I gave Husker a look, his ears flattened and he looked away.

"You don't like dogs?"

Rolling my eyes, I shrug. "No, I can't say I have been a fan of them. You tend to get that way if they're the ones that tore into your flesh as you died."

Angel's eyes widened. "I- I didn't know. You know, we can always ask Charlie to get rid of the pup."

"Nonsense. That would mean admitting defeat. I am content to stay here."

"Right....." Angel said with u certainty.

The two of them made some more failed attempts to get me out of the radio tower. I dismissed them and found myself alone again with my shadow. After some time, I felt a little fatigued, so I went to my bed to get some rest.

When I awoke again, my eyes saw the most horrid thing ever. The dog was in my tower. Allowed screech, a sound that sounded like radio static, but not the pleasant kind was broadcasted in a short wave across the hotel.

Charlie's little girlfriend bursted into my quarters with her spear. "Alastor??? What the hell man?"

"Get. This. Vermin. Out!!!!" I hissed.

Vaggie looked at the pup, and blinked. "Umm, okay?" Picking up the dog, she left.

Angel came to check on me, to which I told him I was fine. He stayed in the tower for some time before Charlie came up and said that the owner had been found. This whole time, I was under the impression she adopted the dog. She was just watching the pup until she could find the owner. Of course she would do something like that. Word spread through the hotel that I freaked out because of the dog, and that caused her to apologize like crazy.

I gave her a brief explanation that it was okay, and I just didn't feel comfortable with the dog. And I got startled by it. I also briefly explained that dogs were part of the reason why I was killed. I never like to talk about it, but I owed her an explanation to get her to stop apologizing.

I told her next time she brings an animal into the hotel, make sure it's one that has a good taste to it.

A/N: this one was short. I had a long day at work and I became very tired from my job. I didn't want to write a long one today. Just something short. Once again, it was with Alastor. Have y'all figured out which one of my favorite is yet? XD

See you tomorrow.
