Your phone went off as the boys' practice was ending. Before you could start handing out water bottles to the guys, it had started vibrating in your pocket. You took it out, your eyes widening slightly as you read the messages.

Dad: I've packed your bags. You're living with Tobio now

You: What? What do you mean, dad?

Dad: I'm leaving for a business trip, and decided to sell the house. You're living with your cousin now. All your stuff is already at their house. Tobio will pick you up and take you there

You: Ok

You put your phone back in your pocket, sighing heavily.

"What's wrong, Y/n-chan?"

You looked up and made eye contact with Oikawa. You sighed once more. "My dad's leaving for a business trip, and doesn't know when he'll be back. He went and sold our house."

"What's gonna happen to you?!"

"All my stuff is already with my cousin, so I'm moving in with him."

"Oh, ok. Wait, your cousin?" Oikawa had already forgotten that Kageyama Tobio, the setter he hates most, is your cousin.

Kunimi snickered. "Tell Kageyama I say hi."

You chuckled. "Bet."

Oikawa's whole demeanor changed, he was very unhappy with this news. "Right. Tobio-chan's your cousin."

You put your hand on his head, ruffling his hair. "No pouting. I can't control who my family is, nor I can I do anything about this situation. I won't be leaving this school, so don't worry."

he gave a slight smile, but it quickly disappeared as a curious expression crossed his face. "What about your mom?"

Oikawa didn't realize it, but he just fucked up. That question put you into a bad mood. He genuinely had no clue, and you didn't want to explain it to him.

You took your hand off his head and turned your back to him, grabbing your things and walking out of the gym. You needed to get out before the tears spilled out.

"Y/n-chan?!" He called out to you.

You ignored him, walking away at a faster pace until you bumped into something, well, someone. You looked up and saw your dark haired, blue eyed setter cousin: Kageyama Tobio.

He looked down at you. "What the fu - don't cry, Y/n!" He panicked slightly. "What's wrong?!"

"He's an insensitive asshole." You voice was muffled, your face completely buried in his shirt. You managed to bury your head even deeper into his shirt, unable to stop your tears from flowing.

Kageyama stopped panicking, becoming a mixture of being pissed and confused. It would seem that he has very few emotions, at least, he doesn't show many other emotions. "Who? What did he do?"

"Y/n-chan!" Oikawa's voice sounded as he jogged to find you.

The pieces seemed to fit together in Kageyama's mind. "That explains a lot." He protectively wrapped and arm around you, in an attempt to keep the other setter away from you.

"Oh, Tobio-chan?"

"What did you do to her, Oikawa?" Protective Kageyama mode: on.

"I - I don't know?! I don't think I did anything."

"What. Did. You. Do. Or was it something you said?"

Oikawa hesitated. "Well, she said her dad was leaving for a business trip and sold their house, so she'd be moving in with you. I asked her about her mom, but she ran off."

Kageyama was visibly confused. "You had to have said or done something. There's no way that's the full story. What's the problem, Y/n?" He was unaware about the news of your mother.

You pushed him away, irritated by the fact that your own cousin was unaware of the problem. "All guys are insensitive assholes!" You stomped away, leaving the two very confused setters behind.

They wondered what the problem was. You probably should've said something to them, maybe then they'd understand how you were feeling. But you were unable to say anything without completely breaking down, crying yourself to death. It's a sensitive topic for you, and you really didn't want to say a word about it. It would just hurt you too much.

The guys watched as you stormed off. Both boys were confused, having tried to ask what the problem was. They didn't understand what they said to have upset you so much, but that wasn't their fault.

"Why did you run off, Shittykawa?! Oh, hi, Kageyama." Iwaizumi had caught up to the captain, looking around but not spotting you anywhere in sight. "What's up? Where's L/n?"

Kageyama sighed. "She got upset with the both of us, and said 'all guys are insensitive assholes' before storming off on her own. I have no clue where she is at the moment."

Iwaizumi looked confused. "What did you guys even say or do to upset her?"

Oikawa turned to his best friend. "I only asked her about her mom in the gym, and she left. Then, I followed her, and Tobio-chan asked the same thing, and she left. We don't understand. What could be the problem?"

The spiky haired wing spiker sighed. "She doesn't talk about her personal life very often, and I've never heard her mention her mom before. Maybe that's a sensitive topic, for some reason?"

This is when Oikawa realized that he messed up. His heart ached at the thought of having you. He needed to make this up to you somehow. "I'll apologize as soon as I can. Tobio-chan, please make sure my princess gets home safely."

Kageyama glared at him. "Don't call her that. She told me what you did in middle school, Oikawa, then what you pulled since she started high school. You're lucky she hasn't taken any legal action against you. Just stay away from her. You will never be anything special to her." He turned, and left.

It hurt Oikawa to have someone else say that, aside from you saying it yourself. He now finally understood how you had felt when he made that comment about Kazuma never liking you back in middle school.

"I'm absolute trash." The brunette stared at the ground, realizing how terrible he's been to you, the one he loves most. 'I don't deserve her, not after all the shit I've done. Definitely not after what I've caused that poor girl to go through all those years. I've only ever ruined her life. I shouldn't get involved with her or her life anymore.'

Kageyama was running, catching up to you. "Y/n! Hey, Y/n! Wait up!" When he did catch up to you, he was breathing heavily.

"Which way?" You asked him quietly.

He sighed. "Just, follow me. We don't have to talk, if you don't want to. I'm just... I'm really sorry for what I did. I don't understand your situation, and don't really know a thing about you, or your life. If I said or did something insensitive, I didn't mean it, and I'm really sorry."

"It's fine. I really don't want to talk about it."

You two got home in silence, going to your respective rooms and showering before dinner. His older sister, Miwa, and his parents never come home, at least not often. It as just the two of you, eating in silence.

"Will you need me to get you from school or practice every day?" Kageyama finally broke the silence, voicing his concerns.

"No, I think I'll be fine. I should remember the way to and from here and school now." You got up, washing your dishes, and heading to your room. "Night."

"Night."

All night, you were expecting Oikawa to send a text or try to call you. You thought he might try to apologize for what happened, making sure you weren't mad at him.

He didn't contact you at all, though. You stayed up all night, only to receive nothing.
