Fire races through my veins
Like fire through hell,
Crawling up my arms
And through my neck
As it sits in my throat
And rips its way into my skull;
It grips my mind in a chokehold,
It's sizzling claws leave lacerations
As the blood seeps out my eyes
And puddles in my ears,
It makes its way down to my heart -
Which has been scarred and broken
But continues to be suffocated
By the claws of anger;
Each tear rips a hole through my soul,
Making the fire stronger;
My eyes bite -
My words become venomous -
As the urge to tear a knife
Through my skin -
And watch the pain
Seep out my veins
Onto the dull silver blade -
Becomes so palpable I can taste
Its rusty smirk coating my tongue.
