Oh I know where we are -
We've been down this road a million times,
I thank you for the time you spent,
And the time you chose to
To say goodbye,
For the time you've made me question
Everything I thought,
Everything I believed,
Everything I experience,
And everything I see,
About myself
And how I should work,
About how the world works
And my place within it,
For the million thoughts
You spun about my head,
For all the tears
That looked out my eyes and fled,
As I thought:
"If this is what love is supposed to be,
if this the reward for the trouble we all see,
with all due respect
please end me."
Through all the doubt
You put inside my head,
I finally know, that
That's not what I should expect
From someone that says
They love me.
