Chapter 5: Self-Preservation and Cowardice

     After his suggestion, Yuuki could tell where is this going with their instant silence. He knows that his suggestion is ridiculous for them.

He knows that it was unusual for him too.

However, he has promised Grim that he would try and help him become a student at Night Raven College.

Before the arrival of the headmaster and the other students, Mishima Yuuki woke up trapped inside a coffin again just like in his dream. Other than feeling fear of being trapped in a dark and enclosed space, he could feel the air inside the coffin lessening and the inside of the coffin getting hot.

Survival instincts kicking in, ( Fortunate, that he still does have one ) he pushed out the lid of the coffin with all his strength. Yuuki was fortunate that it worked.

After that, he met the culprit who had attempted to murder and roast him alive inside the coffin.

It was Grim, the monster cat with blue flaming ears and a tail that he was trying to help in getting accepted here at Night Raven College.

When he got out of the Coffin, Grim immediately demanded to hand over him the uniform. Face with an angry flaming cat pinching himself and making sure that he wasn't experiencing a strange dream once again, Yuuki agreed.

He made a compromise with Grim in handing out the robe part of the Uniform after being surprised and uncomfortable with the thought of waking up in a coffin and someone changing his clothes.

Yuuki agreed and made a compromise because even if he was bigger than Grim, Yuuki was useless against Grim. Yuuki has a feeling that those flaming ears and tail of Grim aren't only for show. They are real and Grim has great potential to harm him, the useless and hopeless Yuuki Mishima.

(He was such a coward to fight back. The useless Mishima would only fight back if someone had pressured him and knew that he had someone to lean on when he got in trouble or the Coward Mishima would do things to save his skin and let others deal with the trouble)

(Now he was doing it again. Being a Coward)

After making the compromise, Yuuki decided to gather information from Grim. At the same time, he made sure to not irritate the monster cat. Even he was irritated with the monster cat's arrogant attitude.

Yuuki learned that the monster cat is a he. The cat's name is Grim.

On the other hand, Yuuki Mishima decided to not question how the cat was talking and why could he understand the cat or why he not also speaking Japanese. Yuuki decided to blame it on the strange dream that he had.

That long-nosed creature named Igor and dream Kurusu in that place called Velvet Room. – It's their fault. They are the ones responsible for Yuuki being in this world.

He was angry at the way they ended the dream and communication with him. However, Yuuki decided to forgive them.

He was now in a new world. A new beginning and a new chance for the Nobody and Coward Mishima.

(This is his second chance given to him once again to be more than a nobody)

Another thing that he learned from Grim other than his name is that they are currently in a Magic Academy. Which is unusual in Yuuki's opinion. Usually, when it comes to Isekai genre light novels Yuuki has read, he was always being summoned to another world, becoming a hero, and defeating the Demon Lord.

It was unusual to be summoned to Magical Academy. Yuuki hasn't read Isekai Light Novels that tell a protagonist of being summoned to Magic Academy.

Yuuki was clueless about his current situation so it was best to gather information as much as possible. Aside from learning that he was in a Magic Academy, Yuuki learned that this magic academy used black carriages as a way of transportation and a thing called Dark Mirror chooses the potential mages for this academy.

Since Grim waited but no carriage for this Magic Academy arrived for him, Grim decided to sneak out to this Magic Academy and force himself to become a student in this Magic Academy.

Looking at the sulking monster cat, maybe Grim would be useful and important for Yuuki's adventure in this world of Sword and Magic.

Yuuki after hearing some of Grim's story and reasons and calculating Grim's importance decided to promise and try to help Grim be accepted as a student in this Magic Academy.

Meanwhile, as they waited for some people to arrive at this strange room, Yuuki decided to think about the things that happened in that strange dream.

In one of the pant pockets, Yuuki found his cell phone. Just like Igor said in the dream, all of Yuuki's apps have been erased.

The only thing that remained was the strange app called Metanav and......

The Phantom Aficionado Website— Also known as the Phansite.

Now it has its logo and app on the cell phone.

Phansite was Mishima's pride and joy.

It was his tool for success and fame.

Because of Phansite, Mishima is more than just a nobody.

( He was important to the Phantom Thieves... to Kurusu Akira– his savior)

However, Mishima Yuuki deleted and erased the website from existence once he realized, that nobody needed it anymore.

(That he wasn't longer important)

Why it is here again?

Why would Igor and the dream Kurusu-san think of making the Phansite appear on his cell phone?

If the cell phone is his 'cheat' that would help him in his adventure in this new world, what can a Zero Mishima do?

' It wasn't like I could steal hearts like the Phantom Thieves. '

When that thought crossed Yuuki's mind, he froze at the realization.

' Maybe, I could do it? I could become a phantom thief? '

' Is Igor the one who granted the phantom thieves the ability to steal hearts? '

While Yuuki was browsing through his cell phone and thinking of the possibilities that he could have in this world, Yuuki felt embarrassed when he didn't notice the headmaster and the students arrive.

Keeping a calm facade, Yuuki tried hard not to show his uneasiness and nervousness. He then started asking questions and gathering information from the headmaster Dire Crowley while confirming the truth of the information he gained from Grim.

Night Raven College– The name of this magical learning institution for Magic.

The Dark Mirror is indeed the one who would choose the students who have potential.

After gathering information, giving his nickname which his parents use to call him when he was a child, the headmaster made his preparations. And Yuuki Mishima decided to try to fulfill the bargain he made with Grim.

Even if it fails and Grim doesn't become a student, at least Yuuki tried to uphold the deal he made.

Yuuki wouldn't end up burning as a result of not upholding his promise.

However, while Yuuki was pondering and the students waited, the headmaster Dire Crowley made his decision.

" Very well, Dark Mirror sort the familiar into a Dorm... "

Yuuki's eyes widened when he heard the headmaster. He didn't expect the headmaster to comply with his suggestion.

While Yuuki and the students are looking at the masked mysterious headmaster in disbelief, the Headmaster Dire Crowley continues speaking.

" However, after we finished entertaining your suggestion Mr Yuu, it would be your turn to be sorted to your dorm. Do you agree with our deal? "

Hearing the headmaster, Yuuki nodded his head. After agreeing with the terms, Yuuki faintly heard the sound of glass shattering.

He blinked and it was gone.

' Must be an illusion.. '

After a few seconds, everyone including Yuuki watched how would the Dark Mirror sort Grim.
