(Y/N)'s POV
Mrs. Smith lingered in the hallway to greet her students as they came in. Some ruckus came from her classroom behind her because they knew she wouldn't notice as quickly. They acted like it was free-for-all inside.
Loud chatter filled the space like you would expect in a crowd at a mall. Hardly anyone was still in their seats, but two.
Rosalie sat at her desk with her legs crossed and her eyes focused on her flip phone. She couldn't be bothered by anyone around her at all.
Alice sat completely still like a statue, doing nothing. Her eyes had such a strange look in them. It looked like she was staring off miles ahead but focused all the same.
People have all found her weird, like Jessica said. I couldn't see why at first, like I'd been blindfolded for a moment by knowing her more than a stranger. This look on her face had a lot of emotion for someone who just spaced off.
My bookbag got abandoned under my desk, and I waited for class to begin. My eyes watched how the clouds shifted around in the sky like wispy gray and white dancers.
The birds slowly started to retire their morning songs as they slowly began to dip into the afternoon. I could almost fall asleep, watching the tranquil view outside of the classroom, but I fought with that wish to sleep.
Alice's POV
Bright light streamed into the room onto school pages. Their hand scribbled out an answer on the paper, far past where they actually were. They just had their name on the paper, but they skipped down to the sixth question.
They wrote it doesn't without a single bit of effort to find an answer; they already had it. A deep, sinking feeling told me that they knew beforehand.
They somehow knew before the paper came in contact with their desk. And the teacher asked them specifically for that question's answer. That couldn't be a coincidence.
Something about them knows that they would have been asked. That's what my vision is telling me. They must be just like me.
The future is in their sights like it is for me. I almost couldn't believe it. Jasper needs to know about this; I tell him later.
This opens a whole gateway to whole new possibilities. I hope to get to know them more. It would be fun to know someone else like me at all.
(Y/N)'s POV
I watched Alice's face before the bell rang to signal the start of class. She snapped back into reality at the sound of the bell, like she woke from a magician's spell.
"Good morning, class." Mrs. Smith clasped hands together and surveyed the classroom. "Today, I have a small packet for you all to do. We'll go over it at the end, alright?"
She grabbed a thick stack of papers on her desk before going down the rows. Soon, she came to my table at the back of the room.
She set three down in front of Alice. "Please, pass these down so everyone gets one." After mumbling those words in passing, she went on to the next group of three.
Rosalie looked over me at Alice with a raised brow. It's like a silent question between the two that I could only guess to be about how she was a minute ago. This questioning look unfortunately goes unanswered, left hanging in the air, leaving a fog of confusion in her and my mind.
"Here," she slid the packets to me; her voice was a little far off like she wasn't all the way on earth again yet.
"Thanks," I drew the word like a question, accepting the work from her.
She only hummed her response, and I passed the last packet to Rosalie. Alice seemed pretty distant and spacey so far during this class period, but I suppose it's none of my business. I doubt she even views me as a friend of hers.
So, I just tried to push her behavior into the back of my mind. I took a deep breath, knowing I should just brush this under the rug like dust in cartoons.
But, like the rug, you could still see it. This metaphorical lump under the rug is still there. Every now and then, I thought about it like a pestering poke in my mind.
I tried to push it aside and focus on my schoolwork. From my dream last night, I remember this homework sheet. It's the exact same one, so this will be easy.
Alice's POV
My vision from a few minutes ago is coming back to me quickly, seeing it happening so quickly already. I saw them get started on their assignment from the corner of my eye.
Their name is written at the top of the page, and then their hand slid down to the bottom of the page to the sixth question.
I felt the excitement build within me to know that out of the many people in this school, there was someone who could see the future. This wouldn't be the first time that I saw their face in a vision of mine.
This would be the second time. In the first one, they were meeting Edward. It's almost fleeting in my mind, but I still saw it.
A vague picture of them seated side by side in a classroom. It didn't tell me anything really, close to nothing at all, to be truthful. No emotion, a clue of a time, or anything came to me in that one.
It might have been one of the vaguest visions that I ever saw. I hardly had any idea of what to do with a vision like that. Edward wouldn't have either, but that's been some time ago. It didn't matter now that it was in the past.
Now, in the present, they answered the question with ease, just like they saw it in a vision of their own.
