Rachel's POV

My fingers fiddled with plastic decorations in the basket that a friend of (Y/N)'s was so kind to bring. We couldn't have had it longer than a week or so. About half of the little treats inside had vanished over the week between them and me.

Laura is a sweet girl. She put in some thought into account about new neighbors coming to live next door. It's such a thoughtful gesture that she didn't even need to do.

An idea popped into my head, thinking about Larua's gift. "(Y/N), come down here, please!" I called for them to come down to the kitchen.

"Yeah?" They strolled in with their hands in their pockets.

(Y/N)'s POV

I stopped when I got to the end of the kitchen counter. "Did you need something?" My tired eyes swept over them to see if I could take a wild guess what she wanted to talk to me about in here.

Her hands were fiddling with the basket Laura brought not too long ago. She glanced at it now and again as well. Words visibly started to string together in her mind about what she wanted to say.

"I thought of an idea. How about you make some baked goods for your friends? You know, budding friendship and all." She tilted her head and let her hands lay flat on the countertop now.

"Okay, so you want me to make pastries and so on now?" I wanted to be sure about what they were telling me.

"Yeah, I suppose that's what I'm saying here. It's a Saturday afternoon. Your dreams are helpful and all, but you need to do something other than sleep today. I'm glad that you have been sleeping more because I know that means that you had no bad predictions, but do something with your day, please." She patted my shoulder before leaving the kitchen together.

Her head popped into the room for a second like a jack in the box so she could say one last thing. "Oh, you should make some for the Cullens too."

I suppose she is right here, so I didn't refute it or anything. My head shook as if it would wake me some more than it really would.

The ingredients got laid out on the counter in front of me, so I got to work. Cracking eggs into the bowl and mixing everything together until I got cookie dough. It would be the easiest to make for a large quantity of people.

There's Laura, Rodeny, Bella, and Jacob, who get cookies since we have been friends for a few weeks or so. Now the Cullens have to get cookies because Rachel wants them to get some so I can make more friends.

Six cookies went into each of the boxes. Wrapping them up like gifts and writing each person's name on the boxes, they got carefully placed in a large bag for when I give them to people later on.

My phone vibrated and buzzed once I got through with making cookies. A new message from Jacob popped up on the screen. It said, "(Y/N), you want to hang out? Bella is coming too."

I didn't have to think about it for too long before I typed out a response, "Sure, just let me see if I have anything else that my mom wants me to do."

My phone got tucked away in my pocket before I went off to find Rachel. It didn't take too long for me to find her at all.

She sat on the wooden rocking chair she bought for a discount. Basking in the spring warmth, she took to one of her favorite people-watching activities. Her chair rocked to and fro.

"Hey, Rachel?" I slowly stepped out onto the porch to talk to her.

"Hmm?" She hummed and slowly turned her head to me. "What do you need?"

"I'm going to hang out with Jacob and Bella. Is that okay?" I leaned against the porch's railing.

"Sure, but I hardly know that Jacob boy, so you'll have to hang out here in the house." She looked at me sternly. Her eyes said it all; if I disobeyed, I would get a punishment.

"Alright, I'll let him know that we are here." I pulled out my phone and opened my phone. My screen was hardly visible on the sunny day, so I had to head back inside.

"Oh, and," She stopped me before I could leave the porch. "You three will be in the living room. No one that I hardly know is going in your room. You hear me?" She pointed her finger at me.

"Okay, will do." I texted the details to Jacob so that he knew.

I greeted them on the porch when Bella and Jacob came over. "Hey, it's good to see you guys! Come in." The door got pushed open with a soft squeak.

"Thanks," Bella tucked her hair behind her ear as she walked past me into the house.

"Hey, it's good to see you." Jacob smiled at me with his hair lightly taken up by the wind. He side-stepped me to pass through the door.

"So I guess we could just pick a movie, I suppose." I lead them into the living room. "How about an action movie? Would you like that, guys?" My eyes flicked between the two.

"Yeah, sounds like fun." Jacob grinned as he sat on the couch.

"Okay, just give me one second." I went into the kitchen for a moment.

Bella's POV

We watched them go into the other room. My mind has been tossed between the weird quirks of Edward's, but then there's (Y/N).

They saved me from a fall; how they looked at me was strange. It felt like they were watching, waiting for it to happen. Now, their eyes glanced at Jacob almost knowingly. It's like they have this conversation scripted in their head. What kind of superpower did they have that could make them know these things?

They came back into the room with two boxes wrapped in ribbon. "I made cookies for you two."
